The stadium, dedicated to the football club of 1re NK Osijek division, covers an area of 15,3 hectares and will be the first stadium in the country to be able to be fully covered. Particular attention was paid to the demanding standards of UEFA Category 4, an objective achieved thanks in particular to the use of PlanRadar.
For Sacha Atlani, Regional Manager France for PlanRadar: « This project has once again demonstrated that an optimized and intuitive tool for sharing information and project monitoring can make a difference in the management of complex construction sites. Sports infrastructures, with their demanding standards and specific constraints, represent an ideal field for the digitization of construction processes. With the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, France in turn has the opportunity to become exemplary in this dynamic, relying on a partner like PlanRadar. »
Digitize construction processes to facilitate the coordination of a large-scale construction site
Osijek Football Club inaugurated in July 2023 the most modern stadium in Croatia and its training center covering a total area of 15,3 hectares. The roof of the new stadium, with an area of 20.000 square meters, is planned to cover the stands and extend over its outer area. The infrastructure is made up of 13.005 seats (expandable to 14.750), 890 parking spaces, 244 spaces dedicated to people with reduced mobility and a press area that can accommodate up to 90 journalists. This new stadium is unique in Croatia thanks to the facilities it benefits from: it has large screens in the south-east and north-west corners, as well as the most advanced lighting and sound systems. The English-style stadium in Osijek – without an athletics track – meets UEFA category 4 requirements to ensure maximum safety and comfort for spectators.
In order to guarantee the delivery of this major project on time and within the allocated budget, the PlanRadar solution was used throughout the entire construction process. It has proven to be particularly relevant for optimizing the management of construction processes, reducing errors and defects and guaranteeing easy and transparent sharing of all project information. A major asset to increase the efficiency and investment of all stakeholders (supervising investors, professionals and entrepreneurs) in the field.
For Hrvoje Sučić, originally from Osijek and supervising engineer at Honcho, the company that supervised the work: “Our operations team used PlanRadar while monitoring the construction of this facility. This probably saved us 45 minutes to an hour for each engineer visit, which, on an annual basis, proved to be a significant time saver and allowed us to better control our budget. »
This type of project, with impressive results, shows the platform's ability to support field teams in carrying out large-scale projects. Constantly evolving to adapt to the needs of its users, the PlanRadar platform regularly develops new functionalities such as the QR code and the NFC Tag (Near Field Communication) or even Electronic Document Management. These features allow users to facilitate defect tracking and task planning in order to save money and save time.
For Hrvoje Domac, civil engineer at Honcho: “Before, we had to take pictures of each defect, describe them, transfer them to some document that had to be printed and then handed over to the contractor. Thanks to PlanRadar, a comment added on a defect remains visible until the problem is solved. Even after it is resolved, the comment is still stored in our archives. To be honest, the app was used daily. Every time we went to the construction site, we took it with us because it is easy and convenient to use, which saves a lot of time. »
