Publication of the CSTB Éditions practical guide "Rolling shutters - 3rd edition"

This new edition in the “practical sustainable development guide” collection insists on respecting the recommendations of RE2020 and on summer comfort.

Design and implementation in application of the NF DTU 34.4 standard

This guide deals with roller shutters, a method of closing which represents more than 70% of the market in France for new and existing constructions.

Thanks to its thermal performance, the roller shutter can significantly contribute to reducing energy consumption in the building, both in winter thermal (additional thermal resistance provided to the window) and in summer thermal ( reduction in direct solar input). In addition, it makes it easy to obtain a variable solar factor of the bay: low in summer and high in winter.

After a description of the types of roller shutters and their constituent elements, their different performances are detailed: thermal resistance, air permeability, wind resistance, shock resistance, anti-intrusion, etc. The implementation of rolling shutters is approached in compliance with NF DTU 34.4 depending on the nature of the site (renovation, traditional, for bay block, with ITE, etc.) and taking into account the preliminary stages (transport, receipt of the structural work, fixing, installation tolerances).

This new edition insists on respecting the recommendations of RE2020 and on summer comfort.
