Weber launches weberjoint prefa, caulking mortar for prefabricated concrete elements

The advantages of prefabrication are therefore legion and Weber is today adding a stone to the building of this constructive method by dedicating a new solution to it: weberjoint prefa, caulking mortar for prefabricated concrete elements.

Intended for caulking the joints of pre-walls and pre-slabs, without shrinkage, this new fine, fiber-reinforced mortar can be applied indoors and outdoors and has excellent adhesion to concrete. Its weight of 20 kg and its packaging in a bag with a handle for easy handling make it ideal for even easier construction sites.

weberjoint prefa therefore has the advantage of being versatile. It is suitable both for treating the joints of prewalls, prefabricated elements with integrated formwork which, after installation, receive concreting between two concrete slabs, as well as those of preslabs, resistant floor formwork elements. Concerning the pre-slabs, the directives of DTU 23.4 must be met to apply the mortar, namely the removal of water/air from the site (removal of props, installation of heavy partitions, etc.) and the permanent loading of the upper slab.

Once weberjoint prefa has been mixed and after having moistened the concrete supports, perfectly clean, healthy and cohesive, the treatment of the joints takes place in 2 stages. This involves first tightening the mortar on the lips of the joint to guarantee adhesion (packing the joints) then, after the first pass has dried (less than 24 hours), filling the joint, leveling and smoothing. (finishing pass). Please note that a period of 3 days after application of weberjoint prefa must be respected before covering with a coating or paint.
