Full box for EQUIPBAIE – METALEXPO
5 months before the opening of BATIMAT, the entire 44.000 m2 available in Pavilions 4, 5 and 6 dedicated to EQUIPBAIE – METALEXPO is already full! A real success, made possible by the mobilization of exhibitors and that of the professional partner organizations of EQUIPBAIE – METALEXPO (Groupement Actibaie, UFME, UMB – FFB, Union des Métalliers and SNFA).
There are therefore 311 exhibitors who will be present in 9 sectors: Carpentry, Closing, Verandas & Pergolas, Métalexpo, Hardware, Solar protection, Glass products, Home automation & control systems, Machines & tools.
Among them, 143 new exhibitors are registered and 168 are returning. There will also be 45% international exhibitors present.
Exhibitors will thus benefit from an expanded visitor base to a target of professionals including prescribers (engineers, architects, etc.) thanks to this presence at the heart of BATIMAT.
Rich content to meet the challenges of the sector[1]
If the exhibitors are so mobilized, it is because the carpentry and closing sector is at the heart of construction issues and in particular those linked to the environment and renovation. The latter indeed remains an important lever for the development of companies and their turnover.
Also, beyond the solution offers presented by the exhibitors, EQUIPBAIE – METALEXPO will also offer to shed light on the knowledge of all stakeholders through content addressing all the essential subjects to face market challenges.
Take into account all the parameters for a successful renovation
If winter comfort and the renovation of thermal strainers is an issue, summer comfort is also an essential element to respond to heatwave episodes which extend both geographically and over time. From 2024, expenses linked to summer comfort and the renovation of “thermal kettles” are also taken into account within the framework of MaPrimeRenov' (shutters, blinds, etc.).
These topics will be widely discussed during the conferences and speeches held on Agora 5.2:
- Monday September 30 | 16:30 p.m. – 17:00 p.m.: Pôle Fenêtre workshop “Good practices for installing blinds”
- Wednesday October 2 | 10:30 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.: Architalks “Summer comfort”, hosted by Construction 21
- Wednesday October 2 | 15:30 p.m. – 16:00 p.m.: Window Center Workshop “The contribution of solar protection to the thermal comfort of renovated buildings” (Actibaie Group)
- Wednesday October 2 | 16:00 p.m. – 16:30 p.m.: Pôle Fenêtre workshop “Window benefits”
- All week | 14 p.m. – 14:30 p.m. and 14:40 p.m. – 15:10 p.m.: RENODAYS Masterclass by Equipbaie
Initiatives for more virtuous construction
The sector is challenged by new regulations. This is the case, for example, with the EPR of PMCB (Extended Producer Responsibility for Construction Products and Materials in the building sector). A new adaptation of the EPR is announced for 2025 for Industrial and Commercial Packaging which should allow the recycling of joinery packaging and thus promote the circular economy by reducing waste. But the question arises more broadly about how to make construction more virtuous and reduce carbon footprint emissions, and in this context, carpentry has a role to play.
Speeches are planned on these different subjects on Agora 5.2:
- Monday September 30 | 10:30 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.: Architalks “Issues of the architectural requalification of buildings”, hosted by UNSFA
- Tuesday October 1 | 10:30 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.: Architalks “Building non-standard for virtuous standardization”, hosted by A'A'
- Thursday October 3 | 10:30 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.: Architalks “Transforming offices into housing: conditions and impacts? Is the existing system an advantage? », hosted by A'A'
- Thursday October 3 | 15:30 p.m. – 16:00 p.m.: Window Center Workshop “DE-bay: understanding how the FDES configurator for bay products works” (APSIVI)
Recruitment, a key subject to respond to the labor shortage
The building trades are in tension. There is currently a shortage of 300.000 jobs to meet all the needs of all sectors of the sector. Among them, 200.000 concern energy renovation. In 2023, 30% of construction companies wanted to recruit but only half succeeded. The attractiveness of construction professions is at the heart of this issue which will be widely addressed on EQUIPBAIE – METALEXPO. Many highlights around this theme can be found, notably on the stands of the Pôle Fenêtre and the Union des Métalliers (to be found on pages 3 and 4).
Innovation in the spotlight
New products from manufacturers and their innovations are obviously highlighted on the exhibitors' stands but also through the Innovation Awards. A Carpentry & Façades category is open in which all registered exhibitors can apply until May 10, 2024.
The winners will be revealed during a “Press Dating” organized in Paris at the beginning of July.
The official awards ceremony will take place at the show on September 30. Throughout the event, visitors will have the opportunity to discover innovations linked to carpentry at the entrance to the BATIMAT show through video pitches and complete descriptions, available on interactive screens. They will also be able to vote for their favorite solution, by participating in the public vote, every day at 12 p.m. and 17 p.m.
Mobilized partners
Very involved in the success of EQUIPBAIE – METALEXPO, the partner organizations were able to mobilize their members to make this edition a complete success. They also worked around relevant and coherent content to address all the issues in the sector.
Window Pole Stand (Pavilion 6)
- An immersive demonstrator of summer comfort equipment prepared by the UPEC school in Créteil. 16 students from an undergraduate class are working on model proposals with a focus on summer comfort equipment in a detached house, which will demonstrate the effect of the sun. 1 model will be selected for design and presentation at the show.
- Lots of time for friendly discussions.
And on Agora 5.2
Monday September 30 | 16:30 p.m. – 16:30 p.m.: “Motorization of doors and gates: how to make safe and compliant products” hosted by the Actibaie Group.
Thursday October 3 | 16:00 p.m. – 16:30 p.m.: “Market study of the 2023 window”.
For Philippe Seas, President of the Actibaie Group: “The Actibaie Group has been actively campaigning for several years so that the question of adapting buildings to global warming is finally on the agenda of decision-makers! From this point of view, the EQUIPBAIE show will be a formidable sounding board to put forward our arguments and promote our solutions to this major societal issue. We are therefore welcoming visitors to the Pôle Fenêtre stand to discover our demonstrator which, I hope, will convince people of the importance of putting this subject at the heart of public policies on building renovation!”
For Christophe Bieber, representative at the FFB Window Center of the FFB Wood Trades Union: “The EQUIPBAIE show, isolated until then, suffered from an obvious lack of professional visitors, those who buy their windows from manufacturers to install them on their construction sites. Indeed, we have noted that these work contractors travel to BATIMAT but not necessarily to EQUIPBAIE if this show is isolated. The reason is simple: they take advantage of this trip, not only to meet their window suppliers, but also their other suppliers: toolmakers, wood merchants, paint manufacturers... The Union of Wood Trades of the FFB is convinced that the fact that EQUIPBAIE joins BATIMAT will considerably increase this visitor base of building carpentry work contractors. And if the visitors are there, then the exhibitors will respond. The UMB-FFB, whose primary mission is to defend the interests of building carpentry work companies, will therefore respond enthusiastically to this major event in the sector! »
For Bruno Léger, President of the SNFA: “The integration of EQUIPBAIE into BATIMAT marks the beginning of a new era. The carpentry players are there with a reservation rate that exceeds 100%. They mobilized very strongly to make this show in its new format a collective success. There will be many of us there and ready to welcome visitors to share our passion for work. »
For Bruno Cadudal, President UFME: “The marriage of EQUIPBAIE with Le Mondial du Bâtiment is full of promise for the carpentry professionals that we represent and remains the unmissable event for our sector. This year and the next few years bring worries, it is essential to be able to come together to exchange and share our experiences. The UFME, whose primary mission is to promote the French Doors and Windows sector, will be there to support its members but also professionals, specifiers and installers in order to support them in their daily lives. See you at EQUIPBAIE 2024! »
