Credit rate trend in May: red carpet for borrowers

The few establishments which lower their rates do so by around ten basis points to 25 basis points. These are local drops, and within different brands (no movement of place). The vast majority of banks favor stable scales and prefer to negotiate file by file. For the first time since the start of the year, Empruntis notes 2 increases, certainly very marginal but which demonstrate that nothing is ever taken for granted.

The average rates from 10 years onwards are all oriented downward: 10 basis points over 10 years, 5 basis points and decrease over 15 and 20 years, and 15 basis points over 25 years. The rates reserved for the best profiles follow approximately the same trajectory.

The month of May could be less favorable in terms of activity and therefore offer those who are starting out stronger negotiating margins! Indeed, if there are fewer applicants for credit and they have well-prepared files, the banks could roll out the red carpet for them. We are seeing discounts that we have not seen for a long time: up to 50 basis points even for a so-called normal file. »
