Plastor, official partner of the 12th edition of the Challenge du Bois

To bring together apprentices, trainers and professionals in the woodworking trades, the union of carpenters, carpenters and carpenters of CAPEB Rhône (Confederation of crafts and small building businesses) organizes the Wood Challenge every 2 years.

This competition, open to students from training centers and vocational high schools in the carpentry-carpentry sector in the Rhône and neighboring departments, challenges them to create an individual work in wood which fits into a collective whole presenting an original structure. PLASTOR, a specialist for more than 60 years in the formulation of finishes for wood, wanted to support this initiative by becoming an official sponsor of this 12th edition whose theme was ''the Olympic Games''.

For PLASTOR, being a partner of the Challenge du Bois is a way of contributing to the development of the wood industry in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, but also of raising awareness of the brand among the new generation of carpenters, carpenters and floorers.

On March 15 at the Hôtel de Région (Lyon), the winners of the Challenge du Bois were rewarded during the awards ceremony in the presence of Estelle RUSSO, Product Manager and representative of the PLASTOR brand and other members of the jury. For PLASTOR, this regional event which distinguishes creativity and pushes for excellence, is a fantastic lever to raise awareness of the brand among carpenters' schools, carpenters and floorers, and future woodworking professionals.

The Wood Challenge

The Wood Challenge is an event that brings together the entire wood family. One of the main objectives is to strengthen the image of the carpentry profession and to encourage vocations among young people. Through this competition, apprentices can promote their artistic abilities but also the techniques acquired during their training.
By connecting teachers, professionals and communities, this event facilitates collaboration between all stakeholders in the wood industry and discusses everyone's expectations and needs.

If the competition is open to learners at CAP / Bac Pro / BTS / BP levels in the carpentry-carpentry sector, woodworking professionals can also participate in a category dedicated to them. Everyone had 5 months to complete their project on the theme ''the Olympic Games''.

During Eurobois, the wood, transformation techniques and layout exhibition, which took place last February, around a hundred works were exhibited. A jury composed of craftsmen, teachers, architects and event partners such as PLASTOR, represented by David FIDALGO, head of PLASTOR national sales, met to elect the most remarkable works according to level and collective work. As for the public, they could also place their vote in a ballot box.

The winners won numerous prizes: tablets, drones, professional tools, helicopter flights, rowing initiation days... and trips.
