And this, especially since 30% of their energy expenditure is linked to lighting and 80% of them have obsolete installations which will still be in use by 2050, the date of the last deadline of the tertiary decree.
To achieve the energy consumption reduction objectives imposed by the tertiary decree on time and meet the requirements of the BACS decree, companies must therefore act by relying in particular on well-designed lighting associated with intelligent management, on the automation and digitalization. Easy-to-activate levers that deliver quick and significant gains of over 65%(1). It is in this sense that Sylvania Group is launching SylSmart Connected Pro, an innovative digital platform which extends the possibilities of its SylSmart Connected system and opens the way to new opportunities for building intelligence.
SylSmart Connected: energy efficiency and occupant comfort at the heart of the system
Decentralized, SylSmart Connected is an intelligent lighting management system based on a mesh network of luminaires, each carrying a powerful multifunction sensor (presence/brightness). Offering a more precise degree of detection of movements and natural light as well as advanced management technology, it makes it possible to truly adapt the lighting level to needs and personalize the ambiance of different spaces according to occupant preferences. . Highly flexible, SylSmart Connected delivers the right amount of light, in the right place and at the right time. Enough to combine high energy efficiency and maximum improvement in comfort!
Based on universal Bluetooth Low Energy technology®, SylSmart Connected is available in a wide range of luminaires (from Optix or Opticlip ceiling lights, to waterproof Resisto, including KubiXx or Sylvania Granit industrial bowls) thus meeting the needs of most applications in which lighting plays a role major in energy management (tertiary sector, industry, logistics, car parks). To ensure optimal interoperability between different network devices, without the risk of a single point of failure, it operates using the open and highly secure Qualified Bluetooth communications protocol.® Mesh for which Sylvania Group has integrated, at the heart of its design, the latest technological advances in terms of cyber security, in the service of foolproof reliability.
Wireless and requiring no additional wiring, SylSmart Connected luminaires are not only easy to install but also very simple to deploy thanks to:
- off-site configuration via a web platform (definition of needs, creation of lighting zones and scenes, etc.),
- rapid commissioning on site using the dedicated mobile application which will synchronize the pre-recorded parameters for each luminaire.
In addition to simplified maintenance, these intuitive tools guarantee significant time savings during installation as well as minimal disruption to occupants. A real asset in the context of a renovation!
With the new SylSmart Connected Pro platform: maximizing energy efficiency through data
Building on the exceptional capabilities of the SylSmart Connected intelligent lighting management system, the SylSmart Connected Pro digital platform extends its possibilities thanks to new functionalities integrated into luminaires. Using lighting as a digital backbone, this gateway securely collects a multitude of detailed and usable data (consumption, lighting level, occupancy, operating time, etc.), coming from the various sensors embedded in SylSmart Connected luminaires, to then transmit them via the cloud to the Sylvania web application or to an existing Technical Building Management (BMS) system using an open API (application programming interface).
Offering users comprehensive management and high granularity of collected data, SylSmart Connected Pro redefines the role of lighting in smart buildings. With its advanced features (occupancy analysis and energy management, operational status monitoring, remote control, multi-site notification and management, floor plan visualization, energy analysis and occupancy), it thus opens the way to new ways of optimizing assets, improving connectivity and strengthening the efficiency of different systems.
Three packages designed to meet all needs
Since its entry into force in October 2019, the Eco Energy Tertiary regulatory obligation commits all players in this sector towards energy sobriety. From now on, the BACS decree also requires the majority of new and existing constructions with a surface area greater than or equal to 1.000 m2 to install automation and control systems. However, only 6% of them use digital energy efficiency tools and 5% are equipped with a GTB(2).
In this context, Sylvania Group's new SylSmart Connected Pro platform and its three subscription plans constitute a real opportunity for the buildings concerned to accelerate their transition, quickly and efficiently. Depending on their needs, they can choose:
- the Pro package for basic centralized supervision of the lighting system, accessible anywhere and at any time. Intuitive, it includes user access and multi-site management of the system, overview of devices and their status (on/off), floor plan navigation, remote control of luminaires and planning of scenes (zone dimming),
- the Pro+ package, which, in addition to the functionalities of the basic version, offers a dashboard to view at a glance the main data and indicators of the installation by site, an analysis of lighting performance and occupancy, the possibility of defining notification rules in the event of a problem and an advanced overview of luminaires,
- the Pro+ Add-Ons pack which consists of two options to choose from, with premium features, to unlock the full power of IoT. If Pro+ DATA offers a larger data storage volume as well as a higher resolution, Pro+ API allows the connection of the SylSmart Connected Pro system with a BMS and the bidirectional exchange of data, in accordance with the interoperability requirements of the BACS decree .
Specially designed to be scalable, the SylSmart Connected Pro digital platform should soon be enriched with new features such as proactive reporting of anomalies, environmental analysis and even learning-based automation.
In continuation of its complete 360 Services ecosystem including a maintenance contract and the launch of SylSmart Energy in 2023, with SylSmart Connected Pro, Sylvania Group continues to support companies towards energy sobriety and decarbonization. From energy analysis to optimization management, while ensuring the comfort of occupants, the manufacturer allows them to meet normative and regulatory requirements. An enriched global offering which illustrates more than ever Sylvania Group's desire to take a strategic turn and go beyond lighting.
