However, and as evidenced by the results of the study carried out at the beginning of April by the online broker Ymanci and the agency dedicated to FLASHS statistics, owners who have already used the MaPrimeRénov' system say they are generally satisfied with it.
Conducted by the Selvitys institute among a large panel of 7.600 French people - including 4.567 owners - this survey demonstrates the importance of this type of system in encouraging people to carry out such work, even though the average amount spent to the latter shows that they concern “simple gestures” rather than the large-scale projects expected by the government.
Gestures which can, however, prove decisive for those, still very numerous in our country, who still live today in thermal sieves.
Energy renovation, its cost and financing
Three-quarters of owners who carried out energy renovation work did so primarily to reduce their bill. More than 8 out of 10 spent less than €20.000.
- 74% of the owners surveyed have carried out work in their main residence, including 55% in the last three years;
- 31% of them carried out energy renovation work. Three quarters (75%) were motivated by the prospect of lowering their energy bill, but only 14% by the fight against global warming.
- 53% of owners who carried out this energy renovation work spent on average less than €10.000;
- 28% spent between €10.000 and €19.999 while 19% invested more than €20.000 to carry them out;
- Nearly 4 in 10 owners (38%) who have undertaken this type of work have taken out a loan.
Thermal insulation and DPE (Energy Performance Diagnosis)
Barely more than half of owners and tenants know the DPE of their home. Among them, 6% say they live in particularly energy-intensive homes.
- 22% of owners and tenants questioned in this study consider that their home is poorly insulated (18%) or very poorly insulated (4%). Conversely, 22% believe that it is very well insulated and 56% that it is rather well;
- 44% of owners and tenants do not know the DPE (Energy Performance Diagnosis) of the accommodation they currently occupy;
- Among those who are aware of it, 37% indicate that it belongs to classes A and B (the most energy efficient), 57% to classes C, D and E (moderately to slightly energy consuming) and 6% to classes F and G (particularly energy-intensive, even thermal strainers);
- More than half of owners (57%) and tenants (51%) say that the DPE of the home they bought or rented was an important criterion in their choice.
The importance of public aid
When they carried out energy renovation work, half of the owners concerned received public aid with which they were generally satisfied.
- 50% of owners who have carried out energy renovation work on their home have benefited from public aid such as MaPrimeRénov'.
- 31% specified that they were not eligible for this aid, 7% did not know of its existence and 12% gave it up, either because of its complexity (5%), or for lack of profitability between the time to devote to it and the amount of aid (7%).
- 55% declare that the existence of public aid such as MaPrimeRénov' was decisive in their decision to undertake energy renovation work.
- Among those who have benefited from public aid for the energy renovation of their home, 81% say they are satisfied with the amount they received, 77% with the time for payment of the allocated sums and 78% with the ratio between the time they received. 'they devoted to the file and the help that was given to them.
- If 70% of beneficiaries of this aid were satisfied by the ease of administrative procedures, almost a third (30%) were not, and one in ten (9%) not at all.
Study carried out by self-administered questionnaire from April 5 to 11, 2024 by Selvitys for Ymanci.fr and FLASHS among a panel of 7.600 people (including 4.567 owners and 3.033 tenants) aged over 18, representative of the French population.
