Trapmetale and Trapfeu: two high-performance inspection hatches for new or renovated buildings

French specialists in construction systems for interior design, the SPP|PAI brands have a 360° offer for general and specialized trading.

SPP|PAI offers professionals inspection hatches, frames and accessories, finishing profiles, plasterboards, joint strips, fixing systems, metal cassettes and tilting and self-supporting trays. Drawing on its know-how, the PAI brand offers a complete range of technical inspection hatches that can be used in new builds or renovations. Among its solutions, the manufacturer offers three models with remarkable properties. The first, TRAPMETALE, in satin-finished metal, is insulated and ensures perfect airtightness. As for the other two, the French specialist offers TRAPFEU30HA and TRAPFEU60HA, two fire hatches offering respective fire resistances of 30 and 60 minutes to be installed as desired, in individual houses, or in establishments open to the public (ERP) or collective buildings. These different solutions are manufactured directly in the PAI factories located in La Crèche (79) and make it possible to respond to all types of problems on construction sites.

An ideal range for new construction and renovation

Through its range of inspection hatches, PAI aims to provide solutions allowing the various networks (electricity, plumbing, gas, etc.) to be concealed in dry plasterboard constructions, solid masonry, concrete with high fire protection and wooden frames while allowing their access. They are installed horizontally and can blend into their environment thanks to a plasterboard leaf that can be covered or ready to paint. Inspection hatches are easily attached to new and renovated ceilings and false ceilings and can be installed on all types of supports.

TRAPMETALE, the waterproof and insulated hatch compliant with RE2020

Designed with a zinc-plated steel structure, TRAPMETALE is available in two dimensions: 500 x 500 mm and 600 x 600 mm. Foldable and removable, its opening allows easy passage of a person into attics, attics, etc. of a detached house. The French specialist has developed its hatch with fixing tabs (are they removable?) present at its ends to ensure simple and quick installation. Once the hatch frame is fixed to the ceiling, an extension, sold with the hatch, in Akylux (rigid cellular polypropylene plastic material) with a thickness of XX mm (height: 496 mm), adapts easily. It guarantees the maintenance of both the flakes of any projected insulation but also of the two mineral insulators (R= 10 m².K/W) included in the kit in the event of opening the hatch. TRAPMETALE also has a cellular EPDM seal around its perimeter providing perfect air and dust tightness. All of these characteristics allow the hatch to comply with RE 2020. In addition, TRAPMETALE has its own sealing report (2018.310.1051) as well as an ACERMI* certificate (11/016/700 /7).

TRAPFEU, two fire hatches suitable for all construction sites

Having become essential, fire hatches are an integral part of the safety of a building. They provide protection against the spread of fire in order to give people time to leave and evacuate their homes or premises. PAI offers TRAPFEU30HA offering a fire resistance of 30 minutes, perfectly suited to individual homes and TRAPFEU60HA providing a fire resistance of 60 minutes intended for establishments open to the public (ERP) as well as collective buildings.

Available in five dimensions (300 x 300, 400 x 400, 500 x 500, 600 x 600 and 700 x 700), these two solutions consist of a galvanized steel structure to be embedded as well as a plasterboard opening firewall that can be folded down and disassembled. The hatch is closed using a retaining screw flush with the surface of the opening. Once removed, it is possible to open the hatch and retain it using a safety cable. The French manufacturer has designed its two hatches to adapt to all plate thicknesses in order to respond to all problems on construction sites. Each of the hatches has its own fire report (EFR-17-003494 for the TRAPFEU30HA and EFR-17-003491 for the TRAPFEU60HA).
