Thanks to in-depth research and reflection, the Group has forged a unique expertise in the elderly care sector, which today allows it to design products that facilitate the perception of space and visual orientation. , two important factors for preserving residents' mobility and reducing their stress levels.

Tarkett products now offer architects the ability to create interiors designed especially for the elderly that are warm, comfortable and stimulating, to ensure the well-being of everyone: residents, staff and visitors.

To develop this new offer, Tarkett has adopted an approach based on two essential principles: work on the visual aspect to evoke the familiar environment of the house and a reflection around the level of contrasts to facilitate visual perception. Studies have indeed shown that the sight of known objects with discreet textures or patterns can reassure residents and stimulate their memory. Understanding of their environment is thus improved.

Although older people often have an altered perception of colors, it is however possible to accentuate the contrasts thanks to combinations of colors and suitable light reflection values ​​(LRV). The visibility of visual markers is thus improved, which facilitates orientation in space. The matte finish stands out as another important parameter of this research, since it limits reflections and avoids giving the impression that the surface is wet.
