With a new range ideally suited to the French market, Schöck Stacon® type LD / F-LD, under DTA 3.1/15-817_V3 validated by the CSTB, the manufacturer stands out with the launch of a very first sizing software, Scalix®. And as the support of construction professionals intrinsically determines each of its product innovations, Schöck provides them, on its website, with a CAD/BIM library for the Stacon range.®.
A simple, safe and economical system adapting to all configurations
Remember that the treatment of expansion joints prevents cracking of the concrete and fatigue of structural reinforcements, resulting from expansion due to temperature, shrinkage of concrete between two long structures or buildings.
If the usual solutions for mechanically connecting works separated by an expansion joint(1) often prove complex, expensive and sources of space on site, Schöck Stacon dowels® type LD / F-LD guarantee structural optimization, without additional work. Made up of cylindrical bars in stainless or galvanized steel, with high mechanical resistance and ready to be implemented, they connect the contiguous construction elements of the joint, ensuring the recovery of shear forces, while allowing one or more degrees of freedom (axial and radial). Please note that in combination with the fire protection sleeve, to slide on the stud, available as an option, the transmission of forces is ensured with a fire resistance class R120 (according to ETA-16/0545).
Made to measure, Schöck Stacon studs® type LD / F-LD now available in 6 diameters (16, 20, 22, 25, 30, 40 mm) in order to adapt perfectly to multiple configurations, both outdoors and indoors, depending on the loads to be carried and of the constructive mode. Very attentive to the expectations of site managers in terms of reliability and safety, Schöck has provided each model with a color code allowing users to identify them instantly to improve speed and efficiency of implementation.
Exclusive sizing software, Scalix, for ever easier and more controlled projects
Schöck is also strengthening its range of services by launching an ingenious new software. Free and online application (permanently updated so always up to date), Scalix® allows structural design offices to size Schöck Stacon dowels® type LD / F-LD to treat expansion joints upstream of projects.
Concretely, at the right of an expansion joint, several configurations can emerge: slab-slab, beam-beam, slab-wall, slab-beam, wall-wall, etc. Provide information on the environment of the stud (dimensions, coating stresses , etc..) will therefore determine their number, the spacing and, very important, the reinforcements to be put in place to each person's right. The insertion of multiple positions is possible, which has the advantage of creating a complete project. At the end of the study, the software submits different solutions (various diameters) with calculation notes, detailed plans, and offers the possibility of exporting, in a PDF file, the Schöck Stacon dowels® retained.
Thanks to this refined modeling obtained by the structural design offices, the project owner has all the cards from the start of the project, combining reliable implementation and perfect control of the budget envelope since we determines in advance, with relevance, the number and reference of Schöck Stacon studs® suitable LD / F-LD type.
Finally, it should be noted that Schöck also makes available on its site a CAD/BIM library dedicated to Schöck Stacon studs.® type LD / F-LD where 2D and 3D format files are offered, integrating all the technical specifications of the selected product (diameter of the stud, width of the joint, material of the sheath and stud, etc.).
Olympic Aquatic Center of Taverny-Saint-Leu-la-Forêt (95)
Installation of more than 1.000 Schöck Stacon studs (and sheaths)® type LD / F-LD
Schöck was involved in the construction of the Olympic Aquatic Center in Taverny-Saint-Leu-la-Forêt, in Val-d'Oise, signed by the international architecture, town planning and landscape agency Rougerie+Tangram, with for the project owner, the Val Parisis Urban Community.
Fully glazed facades with a view of the Aulnaies woods (use as little concrete as possible to reduce the carbon impact, natural light replacing artificial lighting), 50 m Olympic stainless steel pool (more easy to maintain than tiling), 25 m training pool equipped with a system offering the possibility of adjusting the depth of the water according to the activities (learning to swim, aqua-bike, etc.), this aquatic center project should be completed in April 2024. As the Rougerie+Tangram Agency points out, it “is based on bio-inspired, symbolic and sustainable architecture, born from the meeting of nature and water. Designed using an HQE (High Environmental Quality) approach, the equipment must accommodate, in addition to the 4 Olympic disciplines, swimming, artistic swimming, diving and water polo, new sports practices such as sports diving in swimming pools or underwater hockey. »
The Fayolle & Fils construction company, a major player in the field of Public Works, Construction and Community Services in the Paris region, has selected Schöck Stacon studs® type LD / F-LD for their dimensions and mechanical performance perfectly suited to the good maintenance of reinforced concrete floors at expansion joints. With, as a highlight, an ultra-simple and rapid implementation on site (compared in particular to the design of a double structure which is much more time-consuming)! Carlos Carlsen, Principal Works Engineer on this site, explains: “When reinforcing a floor area, along an expansion joint, we place plywood plates which serve as a stop for the concrete pouring and, on this plywood, we fix, with nails, the female parts of the expansion studs, while respecting the models and centers recommended by the Schöck team. When everything is ready, we pour the concrete and the female studs are “drowned” inside. Then, when this first floor is dry, the preparation of the second floor, on the other side of the expansion joint, begins: we remove the plywood that I have just mentioned, we insert the male studs into the female parts and we apply a “cardboard” joint all along this expansion joint. Finally, when everything is ready (reinforcement/formwork/reservation etc.), we pour this second zone.”
This is how more than 1.000 Schöck Stacon studs® type LD / F-LD have been implemented in all parts of the building (pool hall, changing rooms, premises dedicated to the organization of competitions, wellness and health area, etc.) on the ground floor and the first floor.
