A specialist in glazed steel joinery, with strong expertise in the field of glazed steel fire-rated joinery, MAF Atlantique is completing its range of motorized steel EI30 and EI60 fire-rated hinged doors with a unique new product of its kind: the Cardéa door.
Imagined by its integrated design office, in partnership with the company Record, an expert in automatic door motorization, Cardéa responds to a need expressed by the market in the aftermath of the health crisis, so that all steel doors installed in places receiving the public (hinging, sliding, back and forth) are motorized.
CARDEA, an automatic motorized fire-rated swing door on hinges with one-way opening
With CARDEA, MAF Atlantique wanted to go further by designing this door, on hinges to facilitate the flow of traffic. It has one or two leaves, without a central flap for opening in one direction only.
It has a welded and powder-coated steel frame for invisible assembly, and safety lasers, compliant with standard EN16005, preventing fingers from being pinched.
The CARDEA door is available in glazed steel or in a solid enclosed panel with or without an oculus, with access control controlled by a motorized door closer or without locking.
It can optionally receive a suction cup headband or ground pivots, but also unique safety equipment.
It is thus the first complete solution for an automatic motorized fire-resistant steel swing door.
For Serkan Kircali, technical-sales manager of the Record company: “With motorization per leaf, we first had to widen the crosspiece to 8 cm at the top of the door to position the motorized arm. The addition of a flat scan, which prevents fingers from being pinched, and a systematic locking of the doors when closing make it a complete solution on the steel fire door market, combining maximum practicality and performance. . »

An optimal installation for ERPs and places requiring compartmentalization

Its design and manufacturing are carried out by MAF Atlantique and the motorization by its partner Record for installation and maintenance, throughout mainland France.
If necessary, MAF Atlantique carries out a fire assessment with site notice to justify the essential supports and their conformity (power supply and electrical authorization for connection by Record, in particular).
To date, following obtaining the fire report, MAF Atlantique has marketed and installed 52 doors of this type.
MAF Atlantique opens 30 doors on the “Google site” with its new Cardéa
The Akkerhuis Architect Studio under the supervision of Google France (project owner) chose in early 2023 this unique solution of its kind, proposed by MAF Atlantique with the company RECORD to equip its building with fire-resistant interior joinery .
For this five-level Haussmann building, rehabilitated into offices for Google France and located rue de Clichy in Paris (9): 69 doors were manufactured and installed, including 30 motorized CARDEA swing doors with a leaf of 1.110 x 2.450 mm.
Indeed, this large door with automatic motorized opening in one direction responded on the one hand to the problem of limiting contact with the doors during epidemic episodes but also to both compartmentalize and facilitate travel within offices.
Durable and aesthetic thanks to DECASYSTEM JANSEN steel profiles, the motorized Cardéa fire-resistant glass doors have found their place in this 6.193 m2 building.

For Google, securing access was indeed essential. Proposed by site notice, the motorized CARDEA door perfectly met the needs, in particular thanks to its double opening system: by badge when entering, by push button when leaving. The MAF Atlantique teams and ours have adapted by combining the rigor of the studies and the installation plans, on the one hand, and the fluidity of installation, particularly with the pre-wiring of the doors, on the other.”
