From the end of 2022, 68 establishments "mainly located in urban areas" will be gradually equipped with "fast and ultra-fast charging stations", - i.e. a total of 362 charging points - "starting with Paris and Lyon", specifies a joint press release on Thursday.
These charging stations, "fully supplied with green energy, will be accessible to all", "hotel customers, roaming individuals or even professional fleets (taxis, VTC, logistics, car sharing, etc.)
Hotel car parks will be accessible 24 hours a day, 24 days a week and motorists "will be able to benefit from hotel services while charging their vehicle", specify the partners.
“Our network of hotels offers a unique territorial network, which must be put at the service of users of electric cars”, estimates Franck Bermond, technical director of ESG AccorInvest, quoted by the press release.
"This commitment aims to facilitate the implementation of low-emission zones in all urban areas with more than 150.000 inhabitants, following the adoption of the Climate and Resilience Law", recall the two companies.
Electra will be responsible for the installation and operation of the stations, and will thus be able to "establish itself even more in the main cities of France around the main roads, stations and airports", affirms Aurélien de Meaux, co- founder in 2021 of the company alongside Augustin Derville and Julien Belliato.
Formerly the real estate division of Accor, which now owns only 30%, AccorInvest owns and operates a fleet of 800 hotels under different brands of the French hotel giant (Ibis, Novotel, Mercure... ) in 27 countries, in Europe, Latin America and Asia.
