26 MW of projects under development in France
- Dutch company Sunrock announces its strategic expansion into the French commercial rooftop solar market
- A pioneer in renewable energy since 2012, Sunrock has installed more than 5 million square meters of solar panels on warehouse roofs and logistics real estate across Europe
- After its development in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium, Sunrock France has already signed partnerships with renowned clients such as AXA Investment Managers, Panattoni and Nuveen.
Today, it is pleased to announce that it is adding an additional 12 MW via 5 photovoltaic energy projects to be developed on French territory. This total of 26 MW of projects under development will contribute to a clean energy future in the logistics real estate market.
Committed to a responsible energy transition
Founded on principles of innovation and sustainability, Sunrock offers tailor-made photovoltaic solutions for logistics real estate managers.
For Maarten de Haas, Managing Director of Sunrock France: “Sunrock has established itself as a European leader in clean energy solutions for logistics real estate, thanks to our contribution for more than 10 years to the development of solar solutions for commercial roofs. The installation of millions of square meters of solar panels on large properties has allowed us to acquire solid expertise. This market is growing strongly in France, particularly in the segment of large installations of 1 MW and more, with 338 MW connected¹. Today, we are proud to bring our know-how to help French companies and municipalities meet the country's objectives: deploy 54 to 60 GW of photovoltaic solar power by 2030, including 25% via commercial and industrial roofs. ². »
From European leadership to an ambitious French presence
Sunrock's main objective is to add value to its customers' unexploited land by equipping their roofs with photovoltaic panels.
And the company is active: Sunrock has to date secured 500 MWp in operation and 2GWp of capacity in development across Europe. It is counting in particular on the new obligations ³ in terms of self-consumption and needs for storage and energy management systems. For example, for the efficient charging of electric vehicles in the French vehicle fleet.
For Maarten de Haas: “The world of real estate requires detailed sectoral expertise and great flexibility. We manage our clients' photovoltaic projects from the feasibility study, through their financing, installation and maintenance. Our goal is to offer great flexibility in contracts: this is a hot topic for our clients. We understand the world of real estate, which is why our contractual conditions are flexible and understandable for French real estate investors, and foreign real estate investors active in France. »
