Unlike previous models, the new FLIR ONE Edge Pro does not need to be physically connected to the mobile device it is paired with, and does not come in multiple models for different operating systems, which gives it maximum flexibility for thermal inspections.
“The FLIR ONE Edge Pro is the most versatile and sophisticated thermal-visible mobile camera to date, thanks to its detachable form factor, designed to provide the most comfortable grip. It offers much greater flexibility by eliminating the need for specific connection ports or operating systems,” says Chris Bainter, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at Teledyne FLIR.
“In addition to the new hardware design, Teledyne FLIR provides more software tools to enable novice and untrained users to perform thermographic inspections, process resulting images and create reports. Common uses for the camera include building inspection, automotive repair, and industrial maintenance applications. »
Flexible yet robust design
RESNET compliant and IP54 certified, the FLIR ONE Edge Pro features a spring clip system designed to allow operators to attach the camera to many models of mobile phones and tablets. With the combined Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connection, users can use the Edge Pro up to 30 meters away from their mobile device, allowing them to efficiently inspect hard-to-reach places or store, depending on situations, a secure intervention perimeter.
Featuring a radiometric Lepton® thermal camera with 160×120 resolution combined with a visible light camera, the FLIR ONE Edge Pro offers image quality and processing capabilities that guarantee excellent results. In addition to VividIR, a processing system that combines several images to generate a final image with greater sharpness, MSX® makes it possible to combine cameras with each other. Patented MSX Image Enhancement feature overlays edge detail (provided by the visible camera) onto the thermal image without sacrificing thermal data, thereby optimizing the sharpness and rendering of the environment for easier shooting of decision.
The FLIR ONE Edge Pro also has a longer battery life than previous generations of the FLIR ONE and a clearly visible charge indicator, making it perfect for slightly longer inspections (disaster restorations, repair inspections, etc.) housing, energy audits and diagnosis of industrial equipment).
More images and reports
For cloud storage, image processing and reporting, the FLIR ONE Edge Pro has an extensive Teledyne FLIR software package, including Tools Mobile, Ignite cloud and the FLIR Thermal Studio desktop software. Users can easily share Edge thermal photos with clients and seamlessly integrate them into professional reports.
Additionally, application developers have access to the software development kit (SDK) FLIR ONE to create custom apps, exclusively for use with the FLIR ONE Edge Pro.
The camera has been available to order globally since November 10.
