Eggshell powder in a paint: a meaningful collaboration!

The idea came from a meeting with Circul'egg, a young start-up which decided to work from recycled organic waste. Initially focused on cosmetics, Circul'egg has chosen to use recycled eggshells from French scrapyards, close to its site, to offer biosourced components, meeting the quality and performance requirements of its industrial customers.

Circul'egg then used the membrane of the shell and then remained the shell itself. The young start-up then met Durieu and from there was born the idea of ​​working together to increase eco-responsibility and go even further in the use of biosourced waste, also using shells.

Circul'egg has thus developed, in collaboration with Durieu, a shell powder meeting all the necessary criteria to obtain a filler which integrates perfectly with the rest of the components of the Absolute Universal Undercoat paint.

This new formula of the Absolute Universal Undercoat based on biosourced and recycled products makes it more than ever a universal solution in the Oxi range, suitable for all types of support for a magnified result: intact performance, eco-responsibility in addition.

The application of an undercoat may seem superfluous and the simple rapid preparation of the surface (cleaning, coatings, etc.) sufficient before painting.

But these are not necessarily good savings because in the case of renovating walls/ceilings of uncertain quality, directly applying a finish to a basic preparation can be very damaging.

Indeed, on porous, stained surfaces, subjected to a humid environment, without correct preparation, the paint or coating chosen will flake off, come off in pieces and the work will quickly have to be redone.

Maximum adhesion whatever the support

By integrating fatty binders with exceptional impregnation capabilities into its composition, the undercoat prepares the support and gives it excellent adhesion and grip capabilities.

• Thanks to the combination of technical resins, the Absolute Universal Undercoat leaves a film on the support guaranteeing perfect adhesion of a finish on smooth materials such as copper, galvanized steel, varnished wood, glass paste or PVC.
• It is particularly suitable for porous or floury materials (plasters, unstable coatings, etc. which can directly receive a finish without the need for sustained preparation (sanding, scraping, coatings, etc.).

Corrosion protection

Thanks to the action of its targeted resins, the Absolute Universal Undercoat also gives the support anti-corrosion qualities which will stop the further action of rust thanks to a “tiled” finish: this is an essential step when We work on damp bases or those subject to attacks from humidity.

Flawless finish to last

Its adhesion qualities also allow the Absolute Universal Undercoat to offer optimal adhesion to all types of finishes to last better over time.

When the support is intended to receive a glass cloth or wallpaper, one might think that the underlay is useless but its role is fundamental:

• This guarantees that the wallpaper will not peel off because it allows very good adhesion of all solvent-based or aqueous-based glues.
• It will also block any unsightly build-up of rust, tannins or humidity.
