The EESC opens its doors on the occasion of the 38th European Heritage Days

Architectural tours to discover the Palais d'Iéna

Visitors will have the opportunity to discover freely or guided by lecturers from the Louvre School, all the splendor of the Palais d'Iéna, the art of its architect Auguste Perret as well as the many works hosted within it. They will also be able to visit the photographic exhibition dedicated to this historic monument, built in 1937, on the exterior gates on avenue Albert de Mun.

To celebrate the architecture of the Palace, the EESC is launching an Instagram contest on this occasion. Participants are invited to take a photo of the Palais d'Iéna, post it on Instagram by identifying @cese_officiel and adding #JEPCESE, while subscribing to the EESC account (competition open now and until September 19 at midnight).

Two conferences and an exhibition around art and know-how

In order to highlight the know-how specific to the decoration professions, the magazine AD is organizing from Saturday September 18 to Friday September 24, 2021 at the Palais d'Iéna an exhibition celebrating craftsmen, artists and creators who sublimate the material. AD wishes to encourage and develop the way in which the artistic profession is viewed, giving a new modernity to traditional techniques.

Visitors will also be able to attend two original conferences with personalities from the art world:

• Anouk Legendre, architect, co-founder of XTU with Nicolas Desmazières, an architectural firm involved in environmental research, will host a conference on Saturday September 18 at 16 p.m.
• Matali Crasset, designer with very varied universes: crafts, contemporary art, textile industry, fair trade, having carried out collaborations with artists like Peter Halley or municipalities (Library of Geneva, City of Istres…), will present a conference on Sunday, September 19 at 15 p.m.

Meetings with EESC advisers

The Heritage Days will be an opportunity to rediscover the EESC, an assembly of civil society, which brings together, through its 175 advisers and the 82 organizations they represent (unions, employers, associations, etc.), all French people involved in the daily to enlighten the public authorities on the major economic, social and environmental issues. Visitors will be able to meet and debate with the members of the EESC to learn more about the role of the Council and its new missions within the framework of the reform adopted at the start of the year (citizen participation, petitions, etc.).
