Target 15.000 builders
After eight years of almost continuous decline, building activity recovered in 2016 (+ 2% in volume) and in 2017 (+ 5%). For 2018, the sector will still show growth, although at a slower pace.
After losing 180.000 salaried and temporary positions in full-time job equivalent since 208, the downturn in activity has enabled the building industry to create new jobs in 2017. For 2018, the creation of 30.000 new positions is expected . However, recruitment difficulties pose an uncertainty about the ability to reach such a goal.
FFB companies are committed to recruiting young people from priority neighborhoods and job seekers.
Faced with this problem, the FFB signed a memorandum of understanding this summer with Muriel Pénicaud, Minister of Labor, Jacques Mézard, Minister of Territorial Cohesion, and his Secretary of State, Julien Denormandie, with the aim of promote access to businesses in the sector by 15.000 young people and job seekers from priority areas of city policy. All trades and all functions are affected by this system.
The employment contracts will either be apprenticeship contracts or professionalization contracts, with a more stable job in mind.
How to identify candidates?
The Ministries of Labor and Cohesion of the territories will mobilize the actors of the public employment service and the associative networks in connection with the Regional and Departmental Councils to identify young people and job seekers who want to integrate this vast recruitment program. .
The President of the FFB, Jacques Chanut, who is at the origin of the project, welcomes: “The FFB is particularly proud to be involved in the operation of 15.000 builders. Our professional organization takes its unifying role to heart and is ready to welcome women and men who want to prepare their professional future in our sector of activity. ”
As a reminder, companies in the sector have always participated in welcoming and integrating people in difficulty, far from the world of work, and welcome job seekers and young people without qualifications.
