Dalkia, a subsidiary of the EDF group, has just formalized the signing of its first Carbon Performance Contract (CPC), with Dynacité, a social landlord in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, which manages nearly 1 homes spread over 29 departments. It includes in particular the operation of collective heating and domestic hot water production installations.
Innovative in the social housing sector, this project promotes both “the least consumed”, by emphasizing the issues of sobriety, energy efficiency, and “the best consumed”, by favoring low carbon. Associated with the ambitious rehabilitation program deployed by Dynacité on its assets, it preserves the purchasing power of tenants by controlling their costs. By developing the use of local low-carbon energies, it significantly limits dependence on fossil fuels and their price fluctuations. This project thus contributes to decarbonization challenges with a significant reduction in CO2 emissions.
After ten years of fruitful collaboration during which the social landlord's energy consumption was reduced by nearly 20%, Dynacité once again chose Dalkia following a call for tenders, to continue the decarbonization of its fleet. real estate. Dalkia is thus committed to a new challenge for the next 8 years: reducing the consumption of the social landlord's assets by an additional 10% and reducing the carbon footprint by 4.300 tonnes of CO2 per year, the equivalent of 2.000 vehicles retired. Traffic.
This ambitious project is materialized by an investment by Dynacité of 12,5 million euros, allocated by Dalkia to the construction of two heating networks operating with 85% local renewable energy (wood energy), 22 biomass boiler rooms, 8 heat pumps and 100 m2 of solar panels.
A typical household, connected to the future low-carbon heating network, could thus achieve savings of up to €450 per year, thus illustrating the benefits of this Carbon Performance Contract.
To ensure the success of this initiative, Dalkia designed a personalized proposal integrating advanced technologies such as connected probes and widespread remote management, allowing real-time monitoring of consumption of Dynacité assets. A dedicated “Energy Manager” will be responsible for collecting all site data and ensuring continuous monitoring of the energy and environmental performance of the installations and supervision via the Dalkia customer area. This digital and human approach, associated with a specific work program, will strengthen operational excellence and the quality of services.
Dalkia will manage 130 GWh of heat for heating and 47 GWh for domestic hot water, thanks to reliable and environmentally friendly installations. An amount of 1,8 million euros will also be dedicated to energy performance improvement work specifically targeted by the Dynacité teams.
For Sylvie Jéhanno, Chairman and CEO of Dalkia: “The current context reminds us of the urgency of intensifying the fight against global warming. Buildings and housing represent 20% of CO2 emissions in France, the second largest source of greenhouse gas emissions. Our common objective with Dynacité, whom I thank for its trust, is therefore to reconcile environmental imperatives with social requirements, serving the well-being of tenants and their purchasing power. To achieve our commitment to reduce CO30 emissions by 2%, Dalkia will implement dedicated and optimized management, supported by innovation, particularly in the digital field. This first carbon performance contract demonstrates that with Dalkia's expertise and thanks to a collective commitment, decarbonizing buildings in our territories is possible. »
For Marc Gomez, Managing Director of Dynacité: “This contract meets the dual objective that Dynacité has set itself: to preserve the remainder payable by tenants by controlling costs and to reduce the carbon impact of our accommodation. On a daily basis, Dynacité teams are engaged in a process of constant improvement of the real estate stock and the living environment of its residents. Furthermore, we have been working to maintain housing at a temperature of 19 degrees for several years now. In this way, we are fighting against energy poverty. Today we want to go even further and take a major step in decarbonization with the very first carbon performance contract in France! A 30% reduction in CO2 emissions over 8 years which will thus avoid 4.300 tonnes of CO2 annually. This is an investment of more than 12 million euros which will be devoted to various energy solutions, thus supporting an eco-responsible and social approach engaged for 10 years by Dynacité. This partnership concretizes a strong commitment for Dynacité, because we are aware that the costs linked to non-decarbonization would be detrimental to the general interest, social cohesion and the legitimate expectations of the current population and future generations. »
