Launch of public consultation on the Nantes-Atlantique airport redevelopment project

It is organized by the DGAC, project owner, and placed under the aegis of two guarantors of the National Commission for Public Debate (CNDP), ladies Brigitte Fargevielle and Sylvie Haudebourg.

Thanks to this consultation, all stakeholders will be able to inform themselves, participate and formulate well-argued proposals in order to build the new face of the airport.

The consultation is organized around two central questions:

• "Nantes-Atlantique, which airport do we want? "
• “How to reconcile the challenges of territorial development with those of protecting populations and the environment? "

The DGAC is debating several options for the redevelopment and operation of the airport: options relating to the runway, options relating to the terminal, an option relating to the implementation of a "curfew" consisting in prohibiting the programming of flights between midnight and 6 am.

The State does not favor any of them and all will be debated during the consultation.
Throughout the consultation, the DGAC provides participants with a large information and participation system.

Everyone is invited to participate: residents of the metropolitan area of ​​Nantes, the Pays de la Loire and the Grand Ouest region, airport users, elected officials, employees, operators, economic players and associations, corporate bodies.

The consultation system is based on:

• a participative website www.reamenagement-nantes-atlantique.fr, which offers in particular to bodies corporate the possibility of putting an actor's notebook online;
• a public meeting on June 4;
• 10 collaborative workshops, including 6 for the general public (2 in the North of the Loire and 4 in the South of the Loire) and 4 for bodies and associations;
• meetings with the public in the city of Nantes (airport, train station, market, university campus, etc.);
• a panel of citizens representing the diversity of stakeholders, who will work during the consultation and will submit their proposals at the end of the consultation;
• hotlines and the provision of information on the project in town halls.
