Construction work on the new 27.500m² logistics center in Reichstett has been completed, the building is ready to be equipped. At the same time, the construction of a new relay manufacturing line on the Obernai site is progressing rapidly.
Delivery of the new international logistics center
To support its growth ambitions in Europe and acquire new customers, Hager Group is adapting its logistics offer. The new logistics platform in the “Ecoparc Rhénan” activity zone in Reichstett will be managed by the group and will ensure the delivery of orders for export (outside France) and the restocking of other European warehouses.
Started in summer 2019, the construction of the 27.500 m² building is now complete. Delivery is scheduled for December 18, 2020. Installation of 10 automation systems is already underway and the new platform is about to be fully equipped, for a two-phase start-up next year. In May 2021, the storage and shipping of oversized products will be launched. At the end of September 2021, logistics activities will begin for modular protection products, such as circuit breakers.
On the occasion of the finalization of the work on the new warehouse, Daniel Hager, Chairman of the Management Board of Hager Group, explains: “The development of our logistics network is an important step in continuing our growth. The ambition is to meet new market and customer expectations as well as to adapt our logistics organization to future developments ”.
This new facility represents the largest logistics center of Hager Group and an investment of several tens of millions of euros. A hundred employees of the group will work there. The entire platform will store 30.000 references. Up to 40 trucks will enter and exit each day to deliver customers around the world.
This investment in the Reichstett area will be followed by others, still in logistics, in France and Germany, over the next three years. In September 2020, Hager Group signed a rental contract for a logistics facility in Hammersbach, in the Land of Hesse, near Hanau, in Germany.
New relay manufacturing line in Obernai
As part of the increase in its production capacities, Hager Group is also continuing its investments in the Obernai industrial site, dedicated to the production of modular equipment for the protection of power lines and people.
Construction work on a new 1m² relay assembly line began in summer 400. Today, the ground floor is completed and the installation of the first equipment is underway. Commissioning is scheduled for autumn 2019. This investment relates to the construction of the future building, but also and above all to the acquisition of new machine tools and new equipment. The new building will house both the new manufacturing line and offices.
“In these times of rapid technological innovation and intensifying competition, these investments are an important step in the group's growth; to become an independent family business that shapes the electric world of tomorrow to make the lives of the inhabitants of our planet safer, more pleasant and more respectful of the environment ”, adds Daniel Hager.
