As soon as it leaves the factory, the surface has the aesthetics of a uniform zinc patina. While prePATINA ECO ZINC light zinc has a bluish-grey appearance, prePATINA ECO ZINC slate zinc has a darker slate-gray hue. These two colors are obtained without artificial coating, lacquering or phosphating and result from the properties of the alloy.
Over time, a patina will naturally form, making the material even more refined. This patina gives it a self-healing property that gradually removes any scratches as on human skin.

RHEINZINK-prePATINA ECO ZINC zinc complies with EN 988. In ecological terms, it has been declared as an Environmental Building Product according to ISO 14025, type III by the Institut Umwelt und Bauen (Environment and Construction Institute) after the complete analysis of its life cycle. It is also certified according to the Cradle-to-Cradle concept.
