They are used to notify the emergency services when an employee faces a danger (aggression, fall, prolonged immobility, loss of verticality, etc.). In recent months, confinement and partial unemployment have emptied the premises of companies and generated a sharp increase in requests for Beepiz. Its application has passed the milestone of 15 downloads.
The protection of lone workers: a legal obligation for companies
According to article R 4543-19 of the Labor Code, “A lone worker must be able to report any distress situation and be rescued as quickly as possible. "
This provision concerns, in France, more than 3 million employees who work out of sight and of voice: workers, technicians, maintenance personnel, maintenance agents, security, truck drivers ... However, this is only 5% to 10% of these employees who are equipped with an Alarm Device for Lone Workers (DATI). In question: the cost related to the equipment and the difficult appropriation of a bulky device by the employees.
In 2017, Beepiz is positioned as a pioneer with the first application that transforms the smartphone into an alert device
The application has 5 alert modes: 2 manual modes (SOS & Aggression) and 3 automatic modes (detection of a fall, prolonged immobility or loss of verticality). In the event of danger, an enhanced alert containing the information necessary for rescue (identity, time, date, type of danger, exterior location, interior location, etc.) is sent to the persons previously defined. Supervisors have an online web portal allowing them to manage and supervise DATI applications. They can thus configure alerts, indoor location or check that all employees are doing well.
A clear increase in demands during the health crisis
Available in a free, standard or premium version, Beepiz has been developed to meet the needs of customers of very different sizes and backgrounds (factories, personal services, maintenance, service companies, local authorities, construction, healthcare establishments, etc. )
This flexibility, inherent in the solution, was the watchword of its editor in the particular context of the health crisis. Objective: to provide the best support to companies during this unprecedented period.
Julien Rousseau, director of Beepiz indicates:
“To deal with Covid-19, companies have had to reorganize in an emergency. We have thus experienced a sharp increase in requests. Many structures had to provide security for employees who continued to visit sites which were sometimes almost empty due to the priority recourse to telework and partial unemployment. In view of the context and to provide the best support for the latter and their employees, we are committed to an accelerated deployment: activation of the license within 2 hours and training in handling within 6 hours.
Over the period, we recorded 76 new customers, i.e. + 150% compared to the previous year, (and even 850% increase in licenses sold over the first 6 months of 2020 compared to the same period in 2019) and over 2300 app downloads with peaks at 100 downloads per day. Our leitmotiv is to save time in order to save lives and we are particularly proud to have been able to put our know-how at the service of those who did not have the possibility of staying at home. "
Building on this experience and convinced of its ability to adapt, Beepiz - which achieved a 90% increase in its sales between 2018 and 2019 - is now planning its deployment in France but also internationally, by targeting, in initially, Belgium, Switzerland and Italy. The company intends to strengthen itself with the integration of an International Business Developer and the opening of 13 sales, technicians and developers positions to be filled over the period end of August / beginning of September.
