Digitization in particular allows the Organization to aim for massive support for construction companies and employees by providing them with simple, effective and accessible tools. With this in mind, the OPPBTP is launching the "Check Chantier" mobile application for the start of the 2022 school year, where many solutions will be made available to meet the needs of professionals.
Digitization, a renewed priority with the OPPBTP's @Horizon2025 plan
Long before the health crisis, the OPPBTP became aware of the importance of digital technology and saw great potential in it, in particular to enable preventive actions to be taken easily and to offer professionals personalized support. From 2015, by making digital one of the five priority programs of its five-year strategic plan, the OPPBTP took the subject head on. Since then, the Organization has developed a complete digital ecosystem in the service of prevention. It offers all construction professionals personalized solutions. After launching new digital services for VSEs and developing e-learning training, the OPPBTP completely reinvented its website in 2021 to enable professionals to improve their prevention culture and encourage them to take action. .
To build on this momentum, the OPPBTP is launching a brand new ambitious and intuitive application for construction professionals: “Check Chantier”.
“Check Chantier”: the application for daily safe action on construction sites
This new application responds to a major challenge for the OPPBTP: to ensure the continuity of its mission by disseminating, via this new tool, good prevention practices in the daily life of VSEs and SMEs in the construction industry. Thanks to it, the OPPBTP intends to support the user, whether he is a site manager, team leader, prevention specialist or operator, by providing instant answers, while reminding him of good prevention practices.
“Check Chantier” thus aims to strengthen the wide range of digital tools already available to professionals, with a playful, innovative dimension and taking advantage of on-board smartphone technologies. In short, an ergonomic application equipped with solutions and tools that can be consulted anywhere.
Practical features to meet daily needs on the job site
The application brings together various practical tools to support the professional in the field:
- Verification modules for scaffolding. The verification of materials plays a key role in ensuring the safety of operators on the site. The inspection of foot and rolling scaffolding is even compulsory and must be carried out regularly.
- Verification modules for gear. Thanks to customizable checklists, the user is guided step by step through this procedure and can generate and print the corresponding reports. This verification makes it possible to detect potential deterioration and ensure the safety of employees.
- Access to the online agency with the possibility of getting in touch with the team of online advisers at any time by chat, audio call and accessing the Q&A database to obtain additional information through questions/answers or with the possibility of joining an advisor by chat or videoconference if necessary.
- The welcome module accompanies the new employee upon arrival before assigning him to his workstation. This tool makes it possible to formalize the reception of the newcomer, recalling the conduct to be followed in the event of an emergency or accident.
- An emergency module that provides all the information to react and warn the emergency services as quickly as possible, with in particular the possibility of pre-recording your address and GPS location. Instructions for acting while waiting for help are also available.
- Practical tools to better understand the site and its surroundings. In particular, the application offers the day's weather to prepare for possible hazards, the location of nearby toilets, but also suggested applications such as a noise sensor and luxmeter to measure the light on the construction site.
- The provision of documentation and gateways to the preventionbtp.fr site to respond to all issues and strengthen the prevention culture of construction professionals, in particular with job descriptions, animation packs and video clips.
For Paul DUPHIL, Secretary General of the OPPBTP: “Check Chantier is the embodiment of all that digital tools can bring to the construction industry in terms of prevention: more proximity, responsiveness and personalized support. An application that aims to support professionals on a daily basis, directly from the site, with tools immediately available in their pocket. The user has a palette of varied functionalities where all his requests can be answered, from the most basic, such as the weather of the day, to the most demanding with the verification of scaffolding or machinery. »
