View measurement data with the Homematic IP app

It is possible to record and store up to 20 different characteristics for a year. In addition to visualization in the app, it is also possible to export the data. The application update is being rolled out gradually and corresponds to versions 2.16.11 (Android) and 2.16.0 (iOS).

How quickly does the bathroom temperature drop after turning off the heating? When does the sun shine particularly brightly on the west side of the house? How much rain has fallen in recent weeks? Having more in-depth knowledge about your home gives you the opportunity to better use home automation to control the home in a more targeted way and improve living comfort or save energy. That's why the free Homematic IP app now allows users to view data from their smart devices and display it in an illustrative way.

Among all data recorded by Homematic IP sensors or actuators, users can select up to 20 characteristics which will be recorded and stored on Homematic IP servers for up to one year. They can then download these values ​​into the Homematic IP application and visualize them in illustrative diagrams. For further analysis, the measured values ​​can also be exported as a CSV file.

This new feature is particularly useful when using Homematic IP weather sensors. Indeed, all measured weather data, such as temperature, humidity, sunshine duration and precipitation, can now be collected, retrospectively visualized and evaluated.

When it comes to heating, the analysis of measured data can also prove profitable. Although the Homematic IP intelligent radiator thermostats and the FAL-MOT-C12 floor heating controller already enable energy savings without further optimization thanks to intelligent algorithms, an analysis of the development of the room temperature can sometimes reveal additional savings potential. In this case, a simple adjustment of the heating profiles can further reduce energy consumption, saving money and protecting the environment.

The Homematic IP app update with versions 2.16.11 (Android) and 2.16.0 (iOS) will be rolled out gradually via the respective app stores starting June 20, 2023 and will be available to all users soon.
