The Auchan property company will spend 1 billion to rehabilitate sites

In a press release published Thursday, Ceetrus explains having carried out "a complete portfolio review (...) which made it possible to identify 150 sites with high added value out of the approximately 250 that the property company has".

It promises to transform “more than 100 sites” by 2030, and to start 20 projects this year.

These investments will be financed by “asset sales and partnerships”, specifies the property company, which wants to “sell mature assets, that is to say displaying proven commercial resilience”.

The projects already underway consist of transformations of commercial areas to make more room for soft mobility and non-commercial activities (housing, offices, services, etc.).

Ceetrus follows other distribution players in this, including Carrefour, which has entered into a partnership with Nexity in 2023 to “revalue” sites by making more room for non-commercial activities (housing, offices, hotels). ...).

Commercial areas on the outskirts of cities, renamed “ugly France” by their detractors, are increasingly criticized, accused of maintaining the all-car model or emptying city centers of their merchants.

With the constraint, enshrined in the law, of zero net artificialization (ZAN) of land, they are now seen by certain stakeholders as easily convertible deposits of land.
