Did you know?
Construction is the second most polluting sector, just behind transport. Building emissions represent, according to the UN, nearly 2% of total human emissions worldwide.
With the new environmental regulations for new buildings which imposes the preference for low-carbon materials, wood construction is on the rise. Wood is a very interesting alternative to cement concrete due to several factors: it stores carbon, produces little waste, has remarkable thermal and acoustic insulation performance and natural humidity regulation.*
Specialized in construction with a positive environmental and societal impact, TH has been designing and building low-carbon, waterless and waste-free wooden modular habitats since 2014 in its first 5.000 m2 factory located in Dole in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. By choosing wood, from sustainably managed forests, as a raw material, TH provides a solution to the environmental waste of concrete construction that emits much more greenhouse gases. TH habitats in fact emit 35% less GHG compared to a traditional masonry construction.

Wooden constructions have several advantages:
- Lightness: The cellular structure of wood makes it lightweight yet very strong. Its low weight also makes it possible to optimize the energy consumed for its transformation and transport. In addition, its lightness makes it possible to build on all types of terrain unlike concrete;
- Insulation: The complexes of the wooden walls provide good thermal insulation. TH modules require very low energy consumption thanks to almost passive insulation up to an altitude of 800m;
- Speed: The production time of the TH modules is divided by 4 and the construction time divided by 10. Since the TH modules are prefabricated in their factory, the assembly time on site is reduced;
- Recyclability: Unlike traditional construction materials, wood is a material whose revaluation and recycling are possible;
- Dry techniques: wooden constructions do not require the use of water.
Responding to strong demand, TH continues its expansion by proving that the reconfiguration of the construction sector is possible. The company now has 60 employees and generates a turnover of €7 million (2022). In 2023 a new factory of 10.000 m2 will open its doors in Hauts-de-France. For 2026, TH aims to deliver 1.000 housing units per year with national deployment on several sites.
