Infiltration tunnel for treated wastewater

The infiltration tunnel allows the distribution and infiltration of treated wastewater. It is installed downstream of a VSAT, a compact filter or a drained sand filter.

Sebico kits are composed of several tunnels and the necessary accessories as needed. They provide an optimized infiltration area depending on the permeability of the soil. Economical and efficient, they are an alternative to traditional infiltration trenches.

Functioning

The treated wastewater is sent to the tunnels by gravity feed or under pressure. The smooth flow in the tunnels allows rapid infiltration of treated wastewater.

Each tunnel has a plane infiltration surface of 0.936 m². The bottom of the excavation is not covered with aggregate to increase the active infiltration surface and to prevent masking. The treated wastewater to be infiltrated is in direct contact with the soil. The tunnel is placed in an area conducive to infiltration. In addition, the contact surface and a supply of oxygen in the tunnels via the air circulation increase and promote the degradation of the residual organic matter at the treatment outlet. Articles 11 and 12 of the decree of September 7, 2009, amended in 2012, impose the infiltration of treated wastewater on the plot if the permeability conditions allow it.
