Founded in 1960, the Catalan industrialist, renowned for its know-how, the quality of its products and the competitiveness of its production site, designs and manufactures each year more than 200 elevators from 9 to 24m in all types of configuration.
MovEX has just doubled its production capacities at the end of 2020, bringing them to 400 units per year, by moving into a new 6.000 m2 site a few kilometers from Barcelona.
This acquisition allows France Elévateur to expand its offering and increase its production capacity in a market whose medium-term trends are particularly strong.
In a sector which is beginning to consolidate under the effect of the growth in volumes, the international movement of standardization in terms of safety and specifications, the two companies now united within the FE Group will combine their strengths in a unique whole whose turnover, up 30% organically this year, is approaching 100 million euros in 2020, and which employs 450 people working on ultra-modern industrial sites.
The new group has a production capacity of more than 1.600 nacelles per year, exceptional technical know-how, a unique network of 15 maintenance centers deployed in 4 countries of the European Union, 'a full range of associated services, and prestigious clients around the world.
France Elévateur and Movex have experienced a high rate of growth for several years under the effect of long-term technological and societal changes which lead to significant investments in numerous network infrastructures: emergence of smart cities (lighting, networks, security), deployments widespread use of optical fiber in telecommunications, plans to renovate and strengthen electricity transmission and distribution networks, growing maintenance needs for electrified rail networks, etc.
The two companies, which share a strong culture of innovation driven by 40 engineers and technicians from their design offices, have the ability to design both special machines with exceptional technical requirements, as well as series devices meeting standards. very high performance and safety, intended for frequent use in all areas of air network infrastructures.
It should be remembered that FE Group is a long-standing partner of EDF, ENEDIS and RTE, for whom it designs and manufactures nacelles allowing to operate without voltage interruption on lines carrying up to 730.000 volts; as well as the SNCF, their technical teams having together designed the 4'Axe, a self-supporting rail combination capable of moving on rail and on the road network to optimize maintenance interventions, ensuring maximum safety for technicians while limiting to both costs and traffic disruption.
In an extremely dynamic market, driven by its sustained pace of innovation and with solid market positions in four European countries, FE Group aims to be one of the players in the consolidation of an industry at the heart of societal and technical changes for decades to come.
