With its 15.800 m2 surface area, the Arago complex in La Roche-Sur-Yon in Vendée is proof that it is possible to use renewable energies to heat large sites.
The swimming pool-ice rink now houses no less than 1.400 m² of photovoltaic panels, as well as 184 m² of flat solar thermal collectors on its roofs.
The whole produces 70 MWh of energy per year and ensures 40% of the site's domestic hot water needs.
