The Government and major retailers take stock of the sobriety plan in shops

This campaign will be implemented in many businesses and stores throughout the territory during the winter in order to promote the initiatives of the brands and encourage consumers to do the same at home.

Launched on June 23 by the Prime Minister, Elisabeth Borne, and the Minister for Energy Transition, Agnès Pannier-Runacher, the sobriety plan mobilized a large number of professional sectors. Among them, distribution and trade, brought together in one of the nine working groups launched with Olivia Grégoire, Minister Delegate in charge of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, Trade, Crafts and Tourism, acted in the month of July, under the aegis of Perifem, the first sectoral action plan for energy sobriety. The latter was put in place on October 15, one week after the overall presentation of the plan.

Gathered at the Ministry of Energy Transition on Wednesday, December 14, Perifem members took stock of the implementation of this action plan, which should save 1 million MWh over one year, i.e. 7% of the energy consumption of the sector.

Beyond their own plan, the players in the sector are once again mobilizing through a communication campaign unprecedented in its scope.

Since the start of the school year, Perifem has set up a working group between the Government and the biggest retailers in order to prepare a campaign adapted from that of the five daily gestures of energy saving launched by Agnès Pannier-Runacher at the beginning of October. . The campaign will parallel the actions implemented by the stores within the framework of the energy action plan with those recommended to individuals, around a strong axis: "Distribution is committed to your side: in store as well as house, every gesture counts to save energy. »

A key message explaining the energy savings achieved by changing habits and two visuals will appear mirrored around the 5 main actions to adopt to reduce heating, limit the use of lighting, put devices on standby or turn them off. , conserve heat or stagger the use of energy-intensive equipment:

The Government and the working group led by Perifem have designed and produced 5 common visuals (see appendix) which will be adapted and distributed by the brands in different formats: in paper display, to be integrated into catalogs or prospectuses, for networks social... All signatories of the user charter have free access to it.

The leaders of the largest food brands such as Michel-Edouard Leclerc (E.Leclerc), Laurent Vallée (Carrefour), Dominique Schelcher (Système U), Didier Duhaupand (Groupement Les Mousquetaires), Philippe Brochard (Auchan), Tina Schuler (Enseignes Casino - Casino group), Vincent Doumerc (Franprix – Casino group), Guillaume Sénéclauze (Monoprix – Casino group), Friedrich Fuchs (Lidl), Ludovic Chatelais (Cora-Match), but also non-food like Alexandre Falck (Goal), Bastien Grandgeorge (Decathlon), Anne-Laure Jacquemart (Ikea), Louis Bonelli (Klepierre), have already approved the charter and will deploy the campaign today with the ambition of participating in the collective effort.

Agnès Pannier-Runacher, Minister for Energy Transition, said: “Two months after the presentation of the sobriety plan alongside the Prime Minister, it was important to make this progress report with the major brands and to show that the major companies have mobilized to reduce their energy consumption. This day also made it possible to launch a vast awareness-raising operation in the stores. As winter approaches, this campaign will encourage retailers and citizens to take the right steps to eliminate energy waste. This is in line with the spirit of the major government communication campaign: every gesture counts! »
