A pioneer and major player in the manufacture of biosourced thermal and acoustic insulation, Le Relais Métisse controls the entire chain of its 100% French manufacturing, from the collection of the raw material to its recovery. Indeed, Métisse is a cotton insulation from the recycling of jeans collected and sorted by Le Relais, French leader in the collection and sorting of TLC (Textiles, Linen and Shoes) since 1984.
A new certification that will meet market expectations
This year 2022 marks a new evolution for the Métisse insulation, which has obtained new certifications and has reached a new classification.
Previously classified as “Euroclass E”, the entire range (RT, flocon and Eko) is now certified “Euroclass D” as a bare product*. Its innovative fire-retardant treatment at the heart (without boron salt) makes it a biosourced insulation that is safe against fire.
Métisse also got nearly 30 HP and Fire Extensions by teaming up with Placo. The association of these two pioneers and leaders in their sectors has made it possible to obtain these numerous certifications and thus validates a very large number of system configurations (from simple partitions to elaborate partitions) to fireproof and acoustic standards. It also obtains a new BS1D0 classification (in complex) by Crepim (COFRAC classified laboratory).
Obtaining these new certifications for the Métisse insulation now makes it possible to meet the demands of ERP - Establishments Receiving the Public (places of health, education or collective housing). Indeed, the insulation achieves high level performance and meets EI30 to EI120 fire requirements in partitions and EI45 to EI120 in inner partitions.

Métis precursor on the market, multiplies the distinctions
The Métisse range has won numerous distinctions: the first insulation from the Social and Solidarity Economy, the first certified insulation from a fully integrated and controlled textile collection chain, the first flame-retardant insulation at the heart of the material by a full-bath process . The insulation was crowned with the BePOSITIVE Awards Prize (Performing Building category) in February 2019. Then a year later the brand distinguished itself again with the award of the Biosourced French Filière Product Label for its entire range. thermal: 70% minimum for the RT range (panels and rolls) and 73% minimum for flakes.
Insulation at the heart of the energy transition
By their physical characteristics (transformation and storage of atmospheric CO2), plant fibers, biosourced raw materials, constitute a strong lever and a reliable, sustainable and concrete response to the challenges of global warming and the depletion of natural resources. Thanks to its composition of biosourced cotton fibres, from recycling, Métisse insulation is fully in line with the Energy Transition for Green Growth.
