This range of CASE wheeled excavators will include conventional WX140E and WX160E models, as well as short radius WX155E SR and WX175E SR models. These four models will be joined later by a classic tail swing excavator, WX210E. The characteristics are as follows:
- Smooth operation and maximum control thanks to proven Bosch Rexroth hydraulic systems with load-independent flow distribution on the four smallest models.
- Durability, reliability and good rolling ability thanks to heavy-duty ZF hydrostatic axles and transmissions.
- Increased safety on the job site thanks to the large cabin for the operator, equipped with the CASE MaximumView monitor allowing to display a 360° peripheral view as well as the additional reversing radar.
- Ultra-comfortable cruise control, optional joystick steering control.
- Runs on biodiesel, hydrogenated vegetable oil (HVO) and other synthetic fuels, thanks to
- Cummins Stage V diesel engine that does not require special exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) equipment
The new CASE E-Series wheeled excavators benefit from proven quality components. They will be available in different frame configurations, and with several combinations of front and rear dozer blades, and front and rear stabilizers.
Top equipment includes the choice of a one- or two-piece boom on all machines except the WX175E SR, which is only available with a two-piece articulating boom. Standard cruise control makes moving between sites easier, while moving material around the job site is made more efficient by the optional Ride Control, or by using the joystick steering control.
Proven technology
The new CASE wheeled excavators are fitted with EU Stage V compliant Cummins diesel engines. that the WX4E will receive the larger B4.5, offering up to 129 kW of maximum power.
The engines are fitted with a highly efficient exhaust gas after-treatment module, comprising a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC), selective catalytic reduction (SCR) and a diesel particulate filter (DPF).
Since a complex exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system is not required to comply with Stage V requirements, maintenance costs are significantly reduced. Additionally, service intervals are 1 hours for the fuel filter and 000 hours for the engine oil and filter, further increasing the machine's uptime for the operator.
The engines can run on a range of fuels to meet customer needs. This includes biodiesel B7 and B20, hydrogenated vegetable oils (HVO) and paraffinic fuels obtained from gas (GTL), coal (CTL) or biomass (BTL).
The WX140E to WX175E SR models all use a load-independent flow-sharing hydraulic system supplied by Bosch Rexroth. The operator benefits from smooth and progressive controls, and multifunctional operation of the boom, arm and bucket. A pressure compensator is integrated into the control system, in order to allow flow sharing in the event of simultaneous rolling and movement.
The bigger WX210E version will be equipped with an open center hydraulic system and positive flow electric control, supplied by Kawasaki. It uses a two-pump system, providing the power delivery required for smooth and productive operation. A proportional electro-hydraulic pressure reducer reduces fuel consumption and improves performance.
Operators can take advantage of an optional automatic digging brake and fine slewing control, to further facilitate control of machine movements. An automatic safety lock, similar to the system found on CASE E-Series tracked models, prevents unwanted upper frame movement when the door is unlocked.
Cab specifications improve operator comfort
The E-Series cab features a two-point telescoping steering column, making it easy for operators of all sizes to find a comfortable driving position. The windscreen is fitted with parallel upper and lower windshield wipers for as wide a coverage as possible, and the machines can be supplied with an optional reversing camera on the right side. The CASE Maximum View 360° monitor is also available as an option, along with a rear-mounted radar for maximum visibility and safety.
The CASE Maximum View monitor uses four cameras, mounted around the machine, to provide 360° peripheral vision. This gives the operator a 360° view of the machine on the job site, which improves safety and visibility, and helps to avoid possible collisions. The optional radar alarm can be set to five distances from the machine, alerting the operator to potential collisions with the back or sides of the excavator. Six LED work lights are fitted to the standard excavator, further improving visibility in low light conditions.
An 8-inch touch screen provides access to a menu system to control all machine functions. A secondary screen is available for the cameras. The operator can navigate the main screen using a selector pressure dial, which is also used to control the engine throttle. This wheel allows you to choose from 10 engine speeds.
The monitor provides ECO advice to the operator, displaying various information, including idle times, to help the driver improve performance and productivity at work. The proportional control joystick is standard, and features a forward/reverse selector at the top of the lever. The lever also has a front axle oscillation lock system and a detent function. Joystick steering is optional, as is keyless push-button start.
The operator can select up to 10 preset auxiliary hydraulic pressure and flow settings from the monitor menus. Adapting the hydraulic flow rates to each work tool promotes the interchangeability of hydraulic accessories. The right joystick also features a switch to enable one-way or two-way auxiliary flow.
