Alkern launches its Re-Source range, responsible products using recycled materials

As proof, Alkern innovates by offering a range of products designed using recycled materials: the Re-Source offer.^®.

Please note that the recycled materials used by Alkern for its Re-Source offer^® can be, for example, aggregates from the deconstruction of concrete structures or scrap. They can also be in the form of waste or other co-products from third-party industrial activities, such as scallops from the food industry, used in the production of Coquillage Alkern pavement.
These materials are now integrated into the manufacture of various prefabricated concrete products from the Alkern group, all sectors combined (Building, Exterior Design or Public Works) and identifiable by a “Re-source” logo illustrating their integration into a circular economy. .

The latest example, the Alkern factory in Saint-Georges-sur-Eure (28) has committed, since February 2024, to integrating recycled sand into all of its production of concrete products. Natural sand, an exhaustible resource because it comes from quarries, is now 100% replaced by recycled Granudem sand from the Poullard company, based in Amilly. This is sand resulting from the recycling of concrete waste collected on demolition sites in its geographical area. In the same logic of proximity, let us mention that the platform is itself located only 8 km from the Saint-Georges-sur-Eure site, to make it a perfect model of a short and virtuous loop, thus also limiting CO emissions.₂ linked to transport.

Finally, let us point out that the proportion of recycled material currently represents, on average, 420 kg per tonne of concrete product manufactured.
