An industrial success which today allows the Alsatian company to celebrate its 40thrd anniversary and to perpetuate its position as a major player in the home closure and protection market, thanks to its commitment to innovation, quality of service and customer satisfaction. Values which remain the basis of its strategy for the years to come.
The meaning of perfection
Founded in 1984 by Marc Burger and Johannes Tryba, SOPROFEN began its activity by marketing PVC profiles for exterior joinery, from Germany where this material was already very successful unlike in France where it was beginning to emerge. Faced with the absence of shutters integrated into the window adapted to the French construction system which requires interior insulation, the Alsatian manufacturer seized the opportunity and developed its own solution: the Chrono VX which obtained the first technical opinion for a block in 1991. -bay. Innovation, robustness, aesthetics and ease of implementation, the ingredients of its success, are already united, and allow the company to quickly conquer a clientele of industrial carpenters. From then on, with innovation as its driving force, SOPROFEN continues to offer ever more technical solutions with high added value, designed 100% by its R&D department.
The year 1999 marked a decisive turning point for SOPROFEN which began manufacturing tailor-made products and began a period of continuous growth. Production of aluminum renovation shutters began in 2002 with the DECO VE model, a box offering unrivaled daylight. Gradually, the company expanded its activities and launched its range of garage doors in 2007.
Another key to its success, external growth which, in 2008, allowed it to establish itself in Belgium and then to expand its offer with a wide range of sun protection thanks to the successive acquisitions of the company Allo Volet in Charleroi and the manufacturer of screens Van Laere in Lokeren.
Over the years, SOPROFEN has established itself as a major player in the closure market with recognized expertise in the design and manufacture of roller shutters, garage doors and solar protection intended for a professional clientele of manufacturers, installers and distributors. Today, it has more than 655 employees spread across its 8 production sites in France and Belgium.
A concentrate of innovative solutions to become a sustainable leader
Under the leadership of Emmanuel Lesage since 2018, SOPROFEN continues its development while remaining faithful to its values. Its solutions launched on the market over the last 4 years perfectly illustrate its capacity for innovation and the quality of service that drives it, such as:
- its renovation shutters incorporating Goodnight technology, a patented solution which offers optimal concealment,
- the Chrono One, a bay unit which, thanks to an exclusive honeycomb underside technology, has exceptional thermal and sound performance,
- Screenamax, an ultra compact and extra large screen blind (up to 7 m wide) awarded the Z&R “Product of the Year 2023” prize in Belgium.
So many product developments which have enabled the manufacturer to exceed the objective it had set for 2025!
Promising future prospects
With more than 180 million euros in turnover achieved for the 2022-2023 financial year, SOPROFEN looks forward to the coming years with serenity and optimism.
As a key player in the solar protection and closure market, the company fully understands the challenges facing the sector, in particular those posed by global warming. The recent consideration of summer comfort in MaPrimeRénov underlines the effectiveness of solar protection such as shutters and screens to combat the overheating of buildings and preserve their habitability during heatwaves, while minimizing the use of air conditioners and therefore the carbon impact. This is why, to meet this challenge, SOPROFEN is committed to remaining at the forefront of innovation and offering high-performance products and services, adapted to all construction systems.
At the same time, given the success of its range of Carsec Pro and Carsec Pro Latérale sectional garage doors, as well as its Carrol roll-up door, the Alsatian manufacturer intends to accelerate its market share gain thanks to significant investments made on its site. from Champagney (70). With nearly 16.000 m² covered and a largely automated and robotic production unit, the latter is now capable of producing more than 500 doors per week (vs. 250 previously).
In this anniversary year, SOPROFEN affirms more than ever its leadership and its determination to shape the future of the closure and habitat protection sector.
