Discover the key steps for successful bathroom tiling. Water protection, bonding of tiles, making of joints and installation of special sanitary silicone for finishing.
Step 1: Carry out water protection. This water protection is essential before sticking tiles on the areas most exposed to water, such as the areas around the shower or bathtub. Minimum height and a safety margin must be respected. To achieve this water protection under tiles, use Carrosec 3, Water Protection System under Tiles (SPEC). Carrosec 3 is ready to use, applies very easily with a roller and dries very quickly. 2 layers are necessary, with a very short drying time of only 30 min to 1 hour between the 2. In the corners, the Cege BR strip must be rolled out in the 1st fresh layer of Carrosec 3 before being covered with the 2nd layer. Once the 2nd layer has been applied, the waiting time before gluing the tiles is also reduced: only 1h30 to wait.
Step 2: Bonding the tiles with Carroflex HRA Duo, a lightweight, dual-consistency, dust-reduced adhesive mortar. Perfectly smooth, it is very pleasant to work with and can be applied to both walls and floors for tile sizes of up to 36.000 cm² on the wall.
Step 3: Tile joints with Carrojoint PREMIUM, a joint that is as aesthetic as it is efficient. Very fine, its aesthetic is perfect with its 17 trendy colors which will match the tiles used. It is applied to walls and floors, for joints of 1 to 10 mm. Carrojoint Premium is a flexible, water-repellent and quick seal with a walking opening in just 3 hours.
Step 4: The last step is a finishing step with the installation of special Cegesil 200 sanitary silicone in peripheral joints.
