Indeed, the lists presented by the U2P are in the majority in 9 out of 12 regions in France (see results below).
This result shows that the artisans largely shared the priorities put forward by the U2P-La Voix des Artisans list: providing a local service to each artisan, meeting the skills needs of craft businesses, developing craft activities in city centers. and villages, simplify administrative formalities.
In addition, the artisans have affirmed by this vote that they defend an independent craft industry and that they refuse that their interests are confused with those of the larger companies.
The elected members of the U2P within the Chambers of Trades and Crafts will put all their energy and their sense of responsibility at the service of the women and men of the Crafts industry over the next five years. They will endeavor to respect the commitments made to the electorate (recalled below) and thus to continue the development of crafts.
The U2P sincerely thanks the business leaders and spouses who voted for its candidates, even if the participation rate is historically low: around 11%. The complexity of electoral procedures, as well as the dysfunctions relating to the sending of electoral material and to the online voting site, are not unrelated to this phenomenon.
Dominique Métayer, President of U2P, adds: “This victory is the result of a courageous mobilization of a large number of nationals of our professional organizations, women and men, who have craftsmanship firmly rooted and who are willing to help their colleagues very concretely. I also see it as confirmation that the action of the U2P is well perceived by the craftsmen and that our commitments for the future meet their expectations. We must now look at the horizon of the presidential and legislative elections in order to place crafts and local businesses at the heart of public policies for the next five-year term. "
