The result of a creative dialogue between Daniel Del Core and Cristiano Benzoni and Sophie Thuillier, founders of Studio REV, the store, designed as a fashion laboratory, revolves around the juxtaposition of artifice and nature. It deploys a language of transitions which, in keeping with the unique spirit of the brand, harmonizes the wonders of nature with human invention.
Going a step further in defining a distinctive identity, Del Core announces the opening of its first boutique in London's Mayfair district. Located at 123/124 New Bond Street, the boutique was designed by creative director Daniel Del Core as a spatial extension of the house's fundamental principles. A fusion of natural and human creates a sense of wonder, in flowing harmony or crisp lines and organic profiles. The project was imagined by Daniel Del Core and executed by Studio Rev, and true to couture principles, consists of elements that have been entirely manufactured in-house.
Spread over three floors for a total of 707 square meters, the space is entirely defined by a pale hue of bone, Del Core's signature color. A large window overlooks New Bond Street, while access to the shop is through a full-height glass door with avocado marble handles. The ground floor is an infinity space devoid of sharp corners and entirely covered in resin and paint in a bespoke bone hue; the light fixtures are hidden, spreading the light warmly and widely like an even coat over the room.
The space is dominated by two massive elements which, while being functional, offer a scenic surprise. The spiral staircase connecting the three floors, inspired by the slats of mushrooms, is sculpted in black lacquered elm briar with resin for the steps, drawing upward movement. The dressing room, on the other hand, is sculpted from mirrored bone-coloured steel and has a curvaceous shape: an organic body with a hard outer shell protecting the soft pale pink carpet inside. The organic movement continues in the racks, made of the same material as the staircase, which look like branches from which clothes are hung. The furniture elements in avocado marble and black lacquered elm have an imposing but sparse geometric presence.
The staircase leads to the second floor, which is divided into two distinct spaces: the first, devoted to ready-to-wear, echoes the ground floor. A door, bone color on one side and mirror on the other, leads to the sewing area, also accessible privately with an elevator. The atmosphere here changes completely: the soft lines give way to sharp angles, while the bone is replaced by the green of the avocado marble, made even more invasive by the mirror reflections, and by the ivory of the floor and from the ceiling. The floor is a mix of silk carpet and black lacquered elm heather, while a giant chest of drawers and a fully mirrored wardrobe, lined with white padded cotton canvas, invade the space. The dressing room is a luxurious suite divided into two spaces for a completely tailor-made experience: an ivory tatami bedroom with silk carpet, and a white marble bathroom.
