This new contract, worth €438 million, corresponds to the digging of a 6,7 km tunnel between the Saint-Quentin Est station and Versailles Chantiers, the civil engineering of three stations and eight service structures. The total contract duration is 104 months.
The work will mobilize nearly 350 people at peak and the consortium undertakes to reserve for the benefit of people, currently far from employment, a volume of working hours of at least 10% of the number of hours planned. . These important measures to welcome future employees will represent around forty people supported over the duration of the project and will mainly benefit the Yvelines region.
The digging of the 6.7 km of the tunnel will be carried out with a tunnel boring machine with variable density to ensure the passage in the sands of Fontainebleau, and at the approach of the SNCF lines of Versailles Chantiers. The consortium has set itself ambitious objectives for the recovery of cuttings and in particular of this sand. The station structures will be made by embankment or diaphragm walls depending on their depth. Of the eight ancillary structures, four wells will be drilled to great depths ranging from 50 to 62 m due to the rugged terrain of the Bièvre valley.
