Gennevilliers, a city anchored in the social and solidarity economy
Located north-west of Paris, the city of Gennevilliers is characterized by a strong economic and industrial dynamic. Its fluvio-maritime port, first in France and second in Europe, contributes to the influence of the territory. With an omnipresent industrial past, today 70% of the city is based on industrial activities. With the density of various companies from various sectors, which offer more than 45 jobs, Gennevilliers has real economic assets.
In terms of the social and solidarity economy, the city actively encourages, through its range of actions, the development of jobs with many integration companies, associations, mutuals and foundations.
Making its territory even more attractive to economic players, citizens and future residents is one of its priorities. This requires the implementation of more effective security measures for establishments open to the public (ERP): administrative and association buildings, school and residential.
Safety of schools above all
To protect its fellow citizens, as well as its personnel and property, the city decided to strengthen the security of its buildings by installing an access control solution. The Town Hall had thus chosen to equip the educational establishments in the first place, starting with the Anatole France site composed of two elementary schools and a nursery school with a leisure center, a gymnasium and a crèche. About 6 years ago, SimonsVoss products could be tested for the first time. Convinced by the quality and reliability of the closures, the Town Hall, under the direction of Mr. Philippe Robert, decided to integrate SimonsVoss products in the specifications for future installations.
To date, the Anatole France site is almost entirely equipped with SmartRelais2 for exterior access and digital SmartHandle, i.e. around 40 doors and exits. At the same time, the same solution was posed in the conservatory and the Grésillons space, an important municipal complex with an educational and cultural vocation. After the educational and cultural establishments, the Town Hall, where 1500 civil servants work, decided to equip itself. The IT, social and local missions departments are the first beneficiaries.
In total, the Town Hall has equipped more than 600 doors and around twenty buildings, including parks and gardens, for a total of nearly 1500 identifiers assigned. The SmartRelais wall reader installed in buildings works with SmartCards which are part of the passive locking supports. As for the parks and gardens which require closings with more autonomy, the gate is opened thanks to the transponder operating on batteries and which has an autonomy of around 400 operations.
“The SimonsVoss digital access control system offers security, comfort and cost-effectiveness. The distribution and complex management of keys, including the cost of reproduction in the event of loss, is now a thing of the past. Centralized management by software has important advantages for an institution like the town hall. In the event of the loss or theft of a badge, it is sufficient to deactivate the right of remote access, this in a few clicks ”, specifies Philippe Robert, Head of Building Services, Gennevilliers City Hall. "We were also won over by the quality of the products and by the simplicity of their installation: without wiring or drilling", adds Robert.
Trusted partner
To carry out the project with the Town Hall of Gennevilliers, SimonsVoss was able to count on the expertise of its long-standing partner, M4S. A company specializing in the locksmithing industry, M4S has expertise in SimonsVoss products and is capable of managing end-to-end projects: installing systems and antennas, programming software, ensuring updates ... Its objective is to quickly achieve certification "Network" of the KeylessWorld Partner Program of SimonsVoss Technologies (launched in January 2020) in order to have complete autonomy over the solutions installed.
“M4S is proud to share this adventure with SimonsVoss by implementing its access control systems. We will soon support the Town Hall in installing the SmartHandle AX range on its future constructions: enlargements of certain schools, a new crèche, construction of the Joliot Curie school group and a cultural center., says Ilan Malet, Managing Director of M4S.
