These new government directives aim to cope with the extreme contagiousness of the Omicron variant and to curb the pandemic while at the same time preserving economic and social activity as much as possible.
The main modifications of the guide concern:
- Teleworking: companies must use 3 days of telework per week, or even more when possible. Teleworking, on the other hand, is necessarily of limited scope in the construction industry. The OPPBTP recalls the paramount importance, faced with the traditional risks of construction sites, of ensuring the presence on site of complete teams, including managerial and technical supervision.
- Reminder of barrier gestures: wearing a mask, hand hygiene, ventilation of the premises, a minimum distance of 2 meters each time the wearing of a mask is not possible or installation of barrier screens, remain valid. In break areas and changing rooms which can be a source of overcrowding, the measures taken in the first waves are useful again in order to preserve everyone's health and ensure business continuity: shifting schedules , barrier screens ...
- Isolation of contact cases: isolation is no longer compulsory for vaccinated people. A test control on D + 2 and D + 4 after the last contact with the person tested positive is however required. On the other hand, people who do not benefit from a complete vaccination schedule must isolate themselves for seven full days. The advice sheet Contact tracing edited by the OPPBTP has been updated.
For Paul Duphil, secretary general of the OPPBTP: “At the very start of 2022, it is of course the end of the epidemic, combined with sustained activity and good management of occupational risks, which we would like to wish to all our friends in construction. Olivier Véran yesterday expressed his hope that this 5th wave will be the last, of course we join in this hope. In the meantime, let's continue in construction to manage this epidemic with professionalism and efficiency as we have been doing since April 2020, to quickly get rid of it. "
