With the Label'ID, the OID aims to create the first self-regulated accreditation system for professionals specializing in sustainable real estate. A unique initiative initiated jointly by the OID, the University of the City of Tomorrow and the Ecole des Ponts Paris Tech through its master's degree specializing in Real Estate and Sustainable Building. With the support of the major players in the city, the OID intends to make hundreds of professionals benefit from this new system from 2023.
A new system to accelerate the ecological transition in real estate
For 10 years, the OID has been working in favor of sustainable real estate. Whether by producing content or issuing observations to facilitate action, the OID strives to highlight environmental issues within the real estate sector. Today, the OID is launching the Label'ID with the desire to accelerate the consideration of ESG in all real estate professions by creating a system for recognizing the skills of professionals in Sustainable Real Estate. The Label'ID initiative of the OID was presented to the University of the City of Tomorrow (UVD) in July 2022. The UVD is an unprecedented mode of cooperation between public actors, private actors and civil society, initiated to respond to major urban challenges. Of the 48 collective actions proposed at the UVD 2022 summit, 13 actions were approved by the 180 leaders present, including the OID's Label'ID.
“At the OID we are convinced that to accelerate the ecological transition, it is not enough to have understood, we must act! Since the summit of the University of the City of Tomorrow in July, the OID has been making progress on the structuring of Label'ID. The objective is to officially launch this collective action at the start of 2023, in the most coherent way possible, i.e. taking into consideration the expectations of the various players in the sector as well as the reality of the ecological, social and societal. » emphasizes Loïs Moulas, Director General of the OID
Objectives and governance of Label'ID
The Label'ID aims to build a relevant and operational base of environmental, social and governance (ESG) knowledge and skills adapted to the real estate business. It also aims to disseminate these new skills in all professions of the real estate industry as well as to promote and promote competent professionals in sustainable real estate in their companies and on the job market.
To achieve this, the governance of the Label'ID program will consist of a strategic committee and a scientific committee. The strategic committee, currently under construction, will be made up of private and public players in the real estate industry. The role of this committee is to steer the deployment of the program and to get involved in the management of the project organized by division. The scientific committee is also being set up, it already brings together universities, colleges and research institutes.
General architecture of the Label'ID
The Label'ID will be available at different levels ranging from awareness to the ability to act, with professional and thematic paths. The label'ID is intended to be open to everyone and it will rely on existing training organizations for the assessment of the skills of professionals.
The first professionals will be labeled in early 2023.
