In order to support entrepreneurs in this complex environment, the Fédération Française du Bâtiment Grand Paris Île-de-France is launching its 3rd training / action session on Lean Construction for its members and continues its commitment to improving the business productivity.
After developing in the field of industry, the Lean approach is being rolled out in the building world to support company managers and employees in optimizing the management of their sites in a collaborative manner. This method aims to improve the production process, by reducing waste and allows, among other things, a gain in productivity, a reduction in construction times, an improvement in the quality of the work ... During the two previous sessions, in 2019 and 2020, organized by the FFB GP IDF, VSEs and SMEs, from 6 to 48 employees, working in all trades, were able to train in the process. During these trainings, companies take ownership of Lean Construction tools in order to implement concrete actions within their structure.
In addition to the economic benefits, Lean Construction also contributes to the well-being of employees and the prevention of occupational risks. To this end, the OPPBTP published a guide in March “ Lean Construction: an approach conducive to prevention To highlight the benefits of Lean Construction through several experimental sites.
President Dominique Zaccagnino, in charge of Lean Construction training for the FFB Grand Paris IDF declares “We are convinced of the benefits of Lean Construction for construction companies because this method represents a real competitive advantage for the economic and managerial development of companies. In addition, Lean Construction is also a process of reflections and exchanges upstream for greater efficiency in the field and on a daily basis. It is for all these reasons that we wanted to renew this training / action offer and once again offer our members this virtuous approach. "
The testimony of Mr. Ouvrard
Eric Ouvrard, director of Entreprise Ouvrard SAS and participant of the Lean Construction session in 2019, gives us the reasons that prompted him to train:
“Our company mainly responds to contracts with order forms, we have hundreds of interventions per month. In 2018, we were in a situation where we felt that the machine was going to explode, we had to find a solution. We had major flow management problems. During this period, the FFB Grand Paris Île de France launched new training courses on Lean Construction. Convinced of the benefits of Lean for our company, we decide to train ourselves in it. "
Before continuing on the concrete application in business:
“The first few months are not easy, not only do you need the will of all the stakeholders, but you also need a total investment. For the executive members, it was necessary to accept not to function as before. When you develop lean, the solution does not come from above, it's the opposite, the solution comes from the field. ".
The significant investment to switch to Lean quickly bore fruit for the Company of 50 employees:
“Everyone has adopted the approach, it has become natural. The contribution of Lean was felt on a site where after 6 months of start-up we were already 4 months late, so we set up the Last Planner System and next week we will deliver the site within deadlines. Lean also applies in the management of the company. During the first lockdown, we lost the market for one of our biggest customers. Thanks to the Lean approach, we have been able to respond to a large number of calls for tenders, and we have all won them! "
