Installation of a pellet boiler in an Alsatian wine estate

The company EM Energie (67), specialist in thermal and climatic installations, replaced the oil-fired boiler of this wine-growing domain by a model with less energy-consuming pellets.

A three-week project only

During the construction, EM Energie installed a new wood pellet boiler (100 kW) without interrupting the old heating system. The new boiler supplies radiators and supplies 100% of the building's needs. The heat is distributed through the building via the central heating circuit.

For the installation of the underground distribution network, EM Energie opted for Viega's Megapress steel piping products. “With its unique crimping system, the site takes half the time. It therefore spanned only 3 weeks, without disturbing the owners and visitors to the wine-growing domain, ”explains Eric Missler, its manager. This thermal renovation project deployed around 40 Megapress system fittings.

Convinced by the time savings and the simplicity of the Megapress system, EM Energie uses Viega crimping products for all its heating sites. “The Megapress press fitting solution is really easy to use. You just have to cut the tube to the right length and all that remains is to crimp the Megapress fitting with its integrated profile seal. The time savings represent around 80% ”enthuses Eric Missler. Another innovation guarantees optimum safety on site. The SC-Contur system causes a forced leak in the case of loose fittings. They are then immediately visible during a tightness check ?? and can be crimped later.

Easy, quick and seamless connection

With Megapress, Viega offers a safer, simpler and more profitable solution. The cold crimping technique eliminates the need for soldering. The advantages: no risk of fire and no cooling time for the joints. Connecting steel piping with Megapress is done in just a few steps. During installation, the thickness of the walls of the steel tube does not count if they comply with NBN EN ISO 6708 or EN 10220/10255 standards.

The Megapress press fitting is suitable for steel pipes conforming to DIN EN 10220/10255 standards and for tube sizes from 1 ½ ", 2", 2 ½ ", and 3" to 6 ". Megapress includes all the parts necessary for mounting connections on existing piping.
