Since 2018, SPIE has been responsible for managing the technical installations of the leisure and entertainment center. It thus provides the customer with a complete range of services, with a single supplier for all building engineering services.
Energy efficiency and reduction of CO² emissions thanks to a comprehensive range of services
SPIE supplies the entire SI-Erlebnis-Centrum with heating, air conditioning, electricity and drinking water under a contract for the supply of energy services. The Group is responsible for the technical management of the installations in the main areas of the complex.

We continuously perform efficiency analyzes and identify potential savings. We plan and implement measures to operate each facility as efficiently as possible ”, says Hans Loest, spokesperson for the board of directors of the Energy Solutions unit of SPIE Deutschland & Zentraleuropa. "Thus, the services provided allow us to optimize the CO² balance, because the most environmentally friendly energy is that which is not even used", adds Hans Loest.
Energy saving guarantee
Thanks to these energy efficiency measures, SPIE succeeds in reducing CO² emissions and making considerable savings: each year, on average, more than two million euros are saved and around 2.500 tonnes of CO² emissions are avoided. .
“This success is also reflected in the level of satisfaction of our customers. We are proud that the current contract between SPIE and SI-Erlebnis-Centrum was extended for ten years in 2016 ”, says Hartmut Kogel, South Operations Manager in the Energy Solutions unit of SPIE Deutschland & Zentraleuropa.
As part of the optimization of the SI-Erlebnis-Centrum entertainment center, SPIE renovated two cooling units and fitted them with new high-performance mechanics.
“Services are billed in accordance with regulations, transparent and based on individual consumption, addressed directly to each user by means of more than 350 calibrated meters,” added Hartmut Kogel.
Management of technical installations 24 hours a day
In 2018, following a call for tenders, the representative of the owner of SI-Erlebnis-Centrum, Brookfield Properties, also entrusted SPIE with the management of the technical facilities of the leisure complex. Since then, the multi-technical service provider has operated all the technical installations of the main areas of the entertainment center, such as air conditioning, fire and sprinkler alarm systems or emergency doors.
"We are also renewing facility management systems, organizing necessary and regulatory inspections, overseeing fire protection inspections and providing 24-hour on-call service as well as failure management services.", says Hartmut Kogel. And add:“We have a perfect knowledge of our facilities as well as the coordination channels within our team which are short. This allows us to implement the corresponding measures flexibly and quickly, in particular to generate additional savings or to respond quickly to user needs. "
