Professionals and individuals will find in the CARRÉ D'ARC Pressed Concrete line a generous collection of pavements made in France, including the remarkable Navarre offered in two finishes: raw or hammered. The Navarre paving with a raw finish reveals a refined structure which is suitable for modern fittings bringing together minimalist geometries. The Navarre paving with a hammered finish reproduces on the surface the hammer blows once carried out by the craftsman, which gives it a traditional appearance. Offered in four large sizes, the Navarre CARRÉ D'ARC collection of pavings is available in three shades: Anthracite, Shaded Gray and Flamed.
On this site, the Navarre CARRÉ D'ARC raw finish option was essential, given the modernity of the volumes: flat roof housing, rectangular covered passage between house, garden and garage, the latter being located slightly below. The floor coverings mark the difference between the living space and the location of the garage: fine cream-colored gravel on a Zen terrace for the front of the house, and Navarre paving, nuanced Gray tinted in strips for the wide driveway. Laying Navarre CARRÉ D'ARC paving on sand (also possible on gravel) requires good tools and method. For a simpler implementation, it is equipped with integrated spacers in order to facilitate the realization of the joints and to avoid the contact of the blocks between them. Procedures.
Laying on sand
A beautiful, clear path
- Earthwork to a depth of 15 cm. The bottom form must have a slope of 2%, or 2 cm per meter.
- Unroll the geotextile on the bottom of the form.
- Spread any product with a grain size of 0 / 31,5 over a thickness of 15 cm.
- Respect a slope of 2%.
- Compact the all-comers.
- Position the rulers respecting a slope of 2%. The top of the rulers should be 3 cm above the top layer.
- Distribute and compact the laying layer of river sand of 0/4 or 0 / 6,3. This layer can be replaced by 15 mm gravel. Remove the rulers and reseal the impressions.
- Position a ruler that will serve as the basis for laying the first row.
- Lay the pavers by adjusting the level using a rubber mallet. The width of the joints between the pavers must measure 3 mm.
- Install the second row by shifting the joints from the previous row.
- Do the same for the following rows.
- The joints are made with polymeric sand or river sand.
- Distribute the sand over the entire surface using a broom. Tap the pavers with a rubber mallet to get the sand into the joints. Water thoroughly with a hose so that the sand descends into the joints. Complete the filling of the joints, if necessary, then water after each addition.
- Place a border on the periphery of the structure. On the lower parts, the edges must be flush with the top of the pavers to allow free flow of water. The paving is finished, revealing its elegant nuances.
