Ubbink ventilation solutions chosen for the construction of a new house in Sennecey-lès-Dijon

The AERFOAM range of ventilation ducts and elbows and the circular network of the AIR EXCELLENT range from Ubbink were chosen by the manufacturer ESYOM in order to install a thermodynamic water heater on extract air, as part of the construction of a new house, in a subdivision in Sennecey-lès-Dijon (21).

Ubbink's solutions and know-how thus make it possible to ensure perfect ventilation of the house, with a minimum of pressure drops, and to recover the energy necessary for the operation of the thermodynamic water heater.

Upstream thinking for optimal construction

Located in Sennecey-lès-Dijon (21), the site consists of building a contemporary pavilion within a housing estate. This achievement is perfectly in line with the approach of the builder ESYOM, a pioneer in the construction of low energy consumption houses, whose watchword is to find innovative solutions for more affordable, more comfortable and safer houses. In this context, ESYOM proposed the installation of a thermodynamic water heater on extracted air. This type of installation makes it possible to recover the calories from ventilation to ensure the operation of the water heater and thus achieve significant savings. In addition, the installation had to meet several requirements: ease of implementation, control of the quality of the installation, performance and durability.

Efficient systems combining optimal air quality and comfort

ESYOM therefore turned to Ubbink and the products in the AERFOAM and AIR EXCELLENT ranges. Silent and designed to optimize the maintenance and cleaning of the network, Ubbink systems provide an appropriate response (semi-rigid conduits do not crush; interior of smooth double-skinned conduits, limiting heat losses, pressure drops and noise pollution; removable system for easy maintenance; elements clipping together for a perfectly sealed connection ...).

Thus, for the ventilation network going from the thermodynamic water heater to the wall for the extraction of air: the range of AERFOAM ventilation ducts and elbows was chosen. Indeed, it is widely acclaimed by professionals for its easy and practical installation. The AERFOAM elements are made of Expanded Polyethylene (EPE), a light material, with high-performance technical properties and are fixed using robust fixing collars and are connected with fittings ensuring tightness between the elements of the system. Since early 2019, the AERFOAM range has had a zero carbon footprint thanks to the use of organic resources in its manufacturing process. It thus contributes to the reduction of CO² emissions.

For the air distribution network of the thermodynamic water heater, the circular network composed of the AIR EXCELLENT range was selected. This makes it possible to control efficient ventilation while improving air quality. Silent and designed to optimize network maintenance and cleaning, the systems have semi-rigid conduits to circumvent the risk of crushing, limit heat losses and pressure losses. Easy to install, the AIR EXCELLENT range is intuitive and can be installed without tools.

“For all of our homes heated with gas for 3 years, the choice of a semi-rigid network was obvious. Indeed, this allows efficient ventilation and, thus, an improvement in the indoor air quality. Compared to a flexible network, which will tend to clog up and favor condensation and therefore lead to pressure drops, Ubbink products make it possible to deal with these problems and therefore meet all our expectations ”, says Gilles Moyse, promoter of the site. The installation of the network only required one day. The end of the work is scheduled for May 2020.
