The Girondins ZAC in Lyon adopts Techniseal polymer sand

Located on the left bank of the Rhône, the Girondins district is one of the strategic urban projects of the Métropole de Lyon, initiated by Greater Lyon. Built on 17,5 hectares, it represents for the city a new pole of attraction with great urban, architectural and landscape quality. Over the next ten years, this district should house around 2.500 dwellings, 75.000 m2 of offices and 7.000 m2 of shops.

As part of this major project, Techniseal was chosen for the grouting of pedestrian areas between the buildings of the ZAC. The high quality of its products, its unrivaled expertise in polymer sand and its support in the field were decisive.

Techniseal polymer sand: high performance grouting for easier laying of pavers on flexible floors

A high-tech product, the Techniseal polymer seal, a true benchmark on the market, makes it possible to obtain solid and durable seals, and to stabilize structures. In the pedestrian zone of the Girondins ZAC in Lyon, 3.500 m2 of Kronimus pavers with ergos were installed with the Techniseal polymer joint. The installation was carried out on a soft floor with a sand bed in closed particle size type 0/4.

Ready to use, Techniseal polymer sand ensures a clean and fast jointing. Its performance allows it to simplify installation. A simple watering allows the sand to polymerize to secure the surface. The seal is sprayed until refused because it only absorbs the water necessary for its activation. In addition, 90 minutes after installation, it resists an unexpected downpour.

Effective, polymeric sand delays the appearance of moss, prevents weed growth, insect invasion, and resists erosion caused by wind, cleaning and water. Finally, it remains perfectly flexible, to better resist ground movements and bursting, and allow the fittings to continue.

Techniseal: the partner of urban spaces for laying pavers

The two installation teams took advantage of the entire Techniseal support process. They benefited from installation training, which aimed to pass on all of the brand's technical know-how, in order to ensure an installation in the state of the art.

In total, nearly 15.600 kg of Techniseal polymer sand were laid on nearly 3.500 m2 of surfaces between June and September 2016.
