At work and mandated by Bouygues Construction, for automatic doors and fire-resistant glass doors and walls, in the Offices and Infra/Mail/Shops areas: the RECORD company. The latter immediately chose to join forces with MAF ATLANTIQUE to entrust it with the design and manufacture of the fire-resistant structures in which it specializes. Result: 450 m2 of glazed surfaces made to measure for this major project.
When contacted by Record in 2019 to design and manufacture various fire structures for two super-entities of the Issy Cœur de Ville project, MAF Atlantique accepted the challenge.
This is certainly a very large project to which the Guérande SME can respond. But it is above all an opportunity for its CEO Guillaume Leborgne, and his teams, to tackle a superb technical challenge of complex and tailor-made fireworks.
Record, not being a specialist in anti-fire standards and not possessing fire reports and certifications, spontaneously chose to associate MAF Atlantique with the project. He offers to be his partner for the design and manufacture of the fire works, he takes care of the installation.
The key: 450 m2 of fire-resistant glass surfaces including hinged doors and glass partitions designed and made to measure by MAF Atlantique, in partnership with Record.
For François-Xavier Vlin, regional director of Record: “We could not respond to this call for tenders without relying on a partner manufacturer specializing in fire protection standards such as MAF Atlantique, with whom we had already worked. This project was also carried out in complete transparency and good understanding between our two companies and Bouygues Construction. »
In total MAF Atlantique supplied 36 units of E and EI swing doors with acoustics. Also, different sizes of glazed joinery with fixed steel frames for edge-to-edge walls, all installed indoors (ground floor, levels and basements) by Record.
They equip, for the most part, the OFFICES super-entity of the site which groups together 3 sets of offices (distributed in 3 buildings B1, B2, B3).
They also equip, in the INFRA/MAIL/COMMERCES super entity, at ERP level, the multipurpose room, car parks, airlocks, landings, stairs and technical rooms.
For Guillaume Leborgne, Director of MAF Atlantique: "This partnership with Record proves that the pooling of skills and the complementarity of know-how become a real strength, the project being more motivating when it is shared and what is more when the site monitoring goes well and in confidence with the partners. It also demonstrates that our SME is recognized for its specificity in fire protection, but also for its ability to be proactive and to design tailor-made works for large-scale projects. »
Fire-resistant architectural glass construction: the specialty of MAF Atlantique
The fire-resistant structures, required in the specifications, had to adapt to the technical constraints of the materials, locations and volumes to be equipped, but also to the aesthetic wishes of the architects.
The design offices of MAF Atlantique, Record and Bouygues worked together and in good agreement, to define the technical specificities and adaptations of the structures to be designed.
In order to be in harmony with the values and aesthetics of the project desired by the architect, MAF Atlantique proposed JANISOL C4 steel carpentry (for its durability), single or double glazing filling for the main hall, with RAL color powder coating finish, interior condition.
To ensure that the doors hold up during installation by Record, MAF Atlantique has adapted specific transoms.
Depending on the requirements of the premises, the doors and interior partitions are all E (Flame resistant) or EI (Fire resistant) standards associated with their performance in minutes of 30 or 60 for fire tightness (E) or insulation thermal (I).
The frames of the partitions are fixed and mounted, as required, edge to edge. The doors are in 1 leaf or 2 leaves.
All of the fire-resistant structures were designed, manufactured and machined in the Guérande workshops of MAF Atlantique and delivered to the site.
Three examples of technical works carried out by MAF Atlantique:
- On the ground floor of building 1, the installation of a monumental wall 34,58 m long x 2,90 m high, made up of glazed joinery with a fixed EI60 steel frame edge to edge. Attached, an opening part in 2 E30 steel glazed leaves – 1.800 x 2.400 mm.
- In building 2, a 2,83 mx 3 m high partition, made up of glazed joinery with a fixed EI60 frame and an EI260 door with 2 leaves of 1.800 x 2.400mm.
- On the floor of building 1, a wall of 8,36 mx 2 m in glazed joinery with fixed frame EI7 steel + an opening part in single leaf glazed steel E60 – 30 x 1.100 mm.
