Eiffage strengthens its stake in Getlink and will pass 20%

The construction and concessions group, which already owned 18,79% of Getlink shares, indicated in a press release that it had concluded "a purchase contract" for 1,76% of the company's capital.

This acquisition, worth 143,5 million euros, will be financed from its cash flow.

A shareholder of the former Eurotunnel group since 2018, Eiffage specifies that it plans to “strengthen its participation depending on market conditions” while ensuring that it “does not plan to make a public offer for the balance of the capital”.

Bringing together construction activities, infrastructure and numerous motorway concessions, Eiffage contributes in particular to the restoration of Notre-Dame de Paris.

In June, the group became the sole owner of the Millau viaduct by purchasing the stake of the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations.

Getlink, operator of the Channel Tunnel, published on October 19 a turnover of 472,5 million euros in the third quarter, a very slight increase (+1%) compared to the same period in 2022.

The turnover of its subsidiary Eurotunnel - the Channel tunnel itself - increased by 4% and rose to 338,5 million euros over the quarter.
